LMAO humans are just as biologically driven as any other animal. Any society has a hierarchy. We just happen to have a social component.

I think we’re on the same page but let me see if you agree with this distinction:

Our understanding of cultural relativism IS biological wiring. Our understanding of anything is biological wiring. Understanding itself is biological wiring.

Interestingly a lot of it is geography

for example Europe formed with incredible cultural diversity because the terrain is such that groups were isolated from each other

the mechanisms by which we learn behaviors have to be biological (duh?) but the behaviors themselves are not necessarily hardwired biology

All animals are only biology.

Sounds infantile perhaps but it seems like a pill that people can’t swallow. I’m not saying you. I’m pointing out the social component are thoughts and thoughts don’t live in the mystic. They’re chemicals. Collections of elements organized a certain way.

Culture is not metaphysical but it's not biological either because it's the collective learned behaviors not the chemicals that form as a result

yes i agree.

@elph you might be interested in the book The Faith Instinct by Nicholas Wade. it it all about the topic at hand and how social behaviors evolved over time for survival etc. and argues that faith and religion stems from a biological need/drive (which i always thought was pretty obvious but it's well articulated by the author). it's a good read.

Instead of arguing, debating, or explaining I’m only going to ask you to figure out what’s wrong with that statement on your own.

culture sets your biological wiring for many things to put it another way

your understanding of everything is warped by your culture
