It just depends on the nature of your alcoholism. Alcohol withdrawal kills people.

I think it’s the most brutal hardest drug out there.

Thanks y'all, I usually keep it to myself because I'm not proud of it, but the prospect of seeing big man Mindy going down a similar path made me open up.

Btw Mindfulness, WWWP hit the nail on the head below. It could be the perfect solution for you if you're responsible enough and have good guidance, just be conscious of the consequences before you start and especially after you start using them.

The good news is I'm meeting my new psychiatrist today (fingers crossed she doesn't cancel before I get there ), and will hopefully come away with a new plan for ongoing treatment because I am feeling like the snail in the well right now guys.
My new psychiatrist used to be a surgeon in Kentucky, fun fact.

Meds are getting changed again, had to break down all my trauma into a succinct paragraph again, lots of talk about things that are available but no bridge offered to get there... apparently my last psych who kept talking about all the support groups to which I could be referred just never followed through with signing me up. So now I have an appointment scheduled with a new therapist, whose only opening for the next 4 months is an 8am appointment at the end of March. Don't know anything about them other than that they are one of two therapists with ANY openings.

They're halving my dose of fluoxetine (prozac) from 80mgs (in September they doubled my dose from 40mgs....) and doubling my dose of venlafaxine (effexor)from 75mgs to 150mgs. Not sure what that's supposed to do but the idea is that the prozac probably just isn't working for me anymore, I've been on it too long.

In summation, I'm no closer to actually getting help now than I was 6mos ago when I went into the crisis program.

Kaiser Permanente is not interested in providing long term mental health care. They want to treat your symptoms, teach you to bandage yourself up, and then get you out the door. Fucking pointless I legit get better mental health care on MusicBanter.

It’s not really worth the effort to get mental health care in America. Between the cost, the incompetency, how much effort it takes to get started and keep it going and the entire field is full of quacks and snake oil salesmen religious freaks new age woo idiots - unless you’re in the nfl the entire approach to the care you receive is completely unscientific - I’ve said it before to negative reviews on here but it’s a ****ing joke that they don’t even look at your brain. The drug you get is whatever the big-pharma rep was hawking that morning.

Yeah, I’m always negative but whatever - it is absolutely as I’m calling it.

The make billions of dollars a year. Their entire structure is criminal.

They provide the insurance and decide how you can cash in on it. Lol. Goddamn. Talk about the goose that lays golden eggs.

If Sanders gets elected, he should dismantle the pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies. Or at the very least be like Theodore Roosevelt and shove that Big Stick right where it hurts 'em.

And then they'll sue the **** out of the government.
The system is ****ed and a lone Sanders won't change it although it might be a good start.
