Maybe we need a good ol' fashioned forum vs. forum war to bring us all together.

Let's band together to fight a nefarious, outside force. That's the ticket! #ForumWars

The only problem is, what other forum? I don't know any others that are nearly as active as us.

(Not condoning a forum war. I was already part of MF vs MB. That was fun.)

Prison Planet is down right now. But that might be a good one.

People who have exhibited this kind of behaviour, were they to get another chance, would in all likelihood do the same thing all over again. No, I can't see the future, but it's a pretty easy thing to extrapolate from their previous conduct here. Some people just like being pricks, and think they're untouchable. Some like pushing the boundaries. Those people have to be pushed back against, and it has to stick.

If you start un-banning permaban members, all you're going to do is encourage others to act in such a way, knowing that if they do get permabanned all they have to do is ask for another chance and they'll get it. Perma. The clue is in the name.

Not to mention that people here, mostly, were saying how good it is that there is less drama, less personal attacks and ****storms going on. Unban members like these and you'll have all that back again, mark my words. You also set a precedent. Who else will want to be unbanned if they hear of a new form of amnesty/leniency, and wouldn't such a move weaken the recent tough stance of the mod team against personal attacks?

Suck Sansa's dick all you want. If she's allowed back she'll go on immediate Ignore, so I don't really care all that much. But I fail to see what she would add to the forum in a positive way. I fail to see how she did that in the first place. JWB was fun, mostly, but even so, if you have no respect for the rules or for the mods, in my eyes, you got no business being here.

Second, where is/are the arbitrary vendetta(s)? Are you intimating that mods banned anyone because of personal bias? You know that permabans are the nuclear option, the final solution, and I'm sure no mod wants to do this unless they have no choice at all. These things are surely not enacted lightly, nor without due and repeated warnings.

What evidence is there that they have/will? Every time JWB pops back in another sockpuppet account he's just the same. Funny, yes, that's undoubted, but zero respect for the rules or for the mods. Where's the possibility or likelihood of change there? Sansa I don't know about as thankfully I have had no contact with her in years.

Who does? I don't. I see maybe a handful of people saying "yeah why not" and you going all ape**** to have them back. That's not the community, my friend. That's a select few.

Batty's a different case and you know it. Despite being a lazy ****er, he's contributed more to the overall mood and atmosphere of the forum than a lot of other people, even if he doesn't go all out making threads and forming clubs that he actually makes sure work like I do. Everyone knew he knew he had overstepped, and he's well liked here. Plus I think he bribed or had dirt on everyone, so we had to get him back. Batty's one of us; as someone once kindly said of me, he's a cunt, but he's our cunt. Compare how much Batty has contributed over the years to that of JWB and Sansa, cos let's be honest, they're the only two you're really asking about, aren't they?
Am I going crazy, or did you just reply to the same post with two walls of text saying the same thing, only one in a slightly more dickish way?

I didn't say immediate amnesty for every banned person. I said just one more chance, after someone has been banned for a year or more, if some people in the community still miss their contributions. If they blow it, then boo hoo, banned again.

JWB never personally attacked anyone. Sansa has awesome taste in music and a great sense of humor. It wouldn't be total anarchy if they got another chance, whether they blew that chance or not. Exo would just yawn and eat a pork roll while dropping the hammer on them.

And yes, arbitrary, because refusing to let someone back in purely because "they were perma-banned, they should stay perma-banned", or "they must have deserved it" is pointlessly arbitrary. Bans get overturned. People change. Be open to possibilities. Carrying on a grudge or vendetta purely because it's a vendetta, and therefore it must be carried on, is arbitrary. It's like denying a prisoner parole, regardless of their circumstances, because "Nah, his sentence was for X amount of years, he must serve those years behind bars".

Honestly, keep them banned. I don't remember a time where JWB and Sansa didn't deserve a ban. Did I like them? Well...I like JWB, bu this forum isn't for him. Same for Sansa.
