So are you back to ranting about voting for Trump again yet?

Did I say I'd vote for Trump? Sorry, I was ordering the West Wing boxset.

These two sentences do not connect to make a joke.

Haha! Depending on your allegiances, it can be a bit sad to see some of these big-name politicians come to grief publicly like this. Biden's fall reminds me of this Brit who was the leader of the Labour Party, also caught in a bit of PR footage that went wrong:-

In Biden's defense, he was doing something sporty and got his foot caught in the toe-caps of his bike pedals. Who needs those things anyway? I'm such a rebel that I ride a bike without them.

Also in Biden's defense, as I've been watching the Jan 6th hearings, I've noticed that Biden hasn't been - and doesn't show any indication of - leading a sustained campaign of lies, falsifications and threats to stay in power.
In contrast, Trump is so much the sore loser that he's willing to undermine confidence in US elections and in the peaceful transfer of power if it suits his purpose, doing lasting damage to what used to be one of the most-admired democracies in the world.
So yeah, not exactly love for Biden, whose party and admin have failed to achieve so many of their goals - but even as Manchin has guaranteed that the voting rights act has crashed and burned along with so much else, Biden still has this in his favour: he's preferable to the other guy.

You had to show Neil Kinnock, did you? Biden's 1988 campaign was jettisoned because he was accused of plagiarizing Kinnock. Kinnock himself thought the whole thing was ridiculous.

^ Well, that was weird!
I had zero idea that there was a story about Biden plagiarising Kinnock, but it seems to have been a slip in just one speech only, at least according to this news report I have just read:-

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...n-1987-scandal

Biden was quoting, and crediting Kinnock in several speeches, but on one important occasion forgot to do the crediting bit: "an honest mistake" according to Kinnock, who has nothing but kind words for Biden.
