This is bad ass.

Sparky 04-13-2011 05:18 PM

It's crazy how their music works well as a whole when each part sounds kinda not super great.

Complex Exclusive: We Found Earl Sweatshirt | Complex

earl sweatshirt location revealed, some military discipline camp in Samoa i guess

clutnuckle 04-14-2011 04:58 PM

I wonder if Earl enjoys or is creeped out by the obsession his fans have with him and his whereabouts.

THOMASENTERPRISES 04-14-2011 08:26 PM

Ill..the world knows now

DoctorSoft 04-14-2011 11:42 PM

Or if the's even aware of it, he could be so in the dark he's got no idea.

Trust me, he enjoys it. So does his crew. So do his future agents.

Thom Yorke 04-15-2011 11:21 PM

Was Earl not in that "selling out" video? I remember seeing an interview where Tyler said he'd been home for a while.

When somebody, especially semi-celebrity, is supposedly missing i can understand being interested in his whereabouts.

The group is always screaming "free earl", made it sound like he was locked away in Guantanamo or something.

arsonill 04-21-2011 06:39 PM

Earl's a Beast

These Kids are out of the box man, something the world of hip hop really needs right now, that **** with the fingernails and the heads bleeding and so on just reminds me of "kids" though, yuck.

Thom Yorke 04-21-2011 08:14 PM

^They are kids lol. I think Earl was 16 when his album came out (Earl is the video you're talking about I think).

DoctorSoft 04-21-2011 10:19 PM

I think the ugliest one in OF is Domo Genesis:

I think Hodgy looks cool. Anyways...

Surell 04-22-2011 06:08 PM

Judging by how off the wall Odd Future is I assume he loves every bit of it.

Do they only have one album out so far? I'm downloading it as we type but is there more?

Edit: I thin Tyler is slightly dashing. And plus, one of them's a butch dizzike, so i mean come on, she's not gonna be the prettiest peach in the basket.

Rage Against the Machine 04-22-2011 06:35 PM

There's Radical and The Odd Future Tape as ofwgkta and then a bunch of solo albums from individual members.

also,
my wife get mad at me all i do is golf uh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh

I thought Goblin hadn't come out yet? Either way, i'll definitely look into it for Yonkers. Is the whole album like that?

Btw, what's with their whole eerie faceshots for album covers? Is it the whole madness/serial killer thing?

well Tyler does design alot of the group's album covers/posters/videos/etc, so it could be part of the creepiness that he pushes and does. dude's said that he just likes "weird shit"

and with Goblin i was just saying how it's done and going to be released in May. the ones i put as Upcoming i just read on Wikipedia but there's no news or signs that it's coming out anytime soon.

Surell 04-22-2011 09:20 PM

Oooooohhhhhhh i see. Well do you have any recommendations? I'm looking at Pitchfork's recommendations but i never know whether to trust them or not.

Get Bastard, Earl and th RADICAL Mixtape man.

Antonio 04-22-2011 09:27 PM

if you want a view of the group as a whole, i'd say start with Radical, even though they didn't produce beats on them (it's essentially a mixtape), you really get the feel of them as a group on alot of the tracks.

Bastard and EARL are definitely recommended too, though i'd say after Radical and maybe The Odd Future Tape.

if you really like those and want to see how the rest of the group's stuff is, i'd suggest MellowHype's YelloWhite and Hodgy Beats' The Dena Tape is pretty good too. Frank Ocean's Nostalgia/Ultra is one of my favorites from OF, but it's pretty far in style from what the rest of Odd Future is known for (it's an R&B album, love songs and sh*t), but it's really good if you dig that type of music.

the rest of the group isn't too bad and can be pretty enjoyable if you're the completionist type. if you find yourself wanting more after the albums mentioned, then i'd say dive right in and get it all.

Antonio 04-22-2011 09:53 PM

but yeah, the albums i mentioned isn't even all of their stuff. i actually just found this online, and it gives a REALLY comprehensive look at their albums, singles, music videos, shows, profiles of the members,

basically everything you need to know about Odd Future

dellyomar25 04-23-2011 01:49 AM

their comin to toronto soon

Best OF track of all imo

myjestik 04-23-2011 08:48 PM

i wont judge this group until goblins comes out. i have earl's album. i've only heard one song.

Thom Yorke 04-23-2011 10:55 PM

^ Didn't you say in another thread that Will Smith was the greatest rapper of all-time? OFWGKTA certainly is no Will Smith but give them more of a chance than one song.

Thom Yorke 04-23-2011 10:57 PM

I thought this was a pretty cool mash-up.

Sparky 04-23-2011 11:27 PM

Thats pretty cool. I kinda think i'm forcing myself to like it just because its odd future and neutral milk hotel combined, the accordion does sound really great with tyler though, if it is an accordion.

luv me sum accordions

also the photoshop is adorable

FaSho 04-24-2011 05:51 AM

AssMilk Flowers is funnier, but this is a much better mash-up:
