Yeah that just looks like Canadian bacon to me. Very tasty stuff but doesn't beat out bacon imo.

No one said it was Canadian bacon, just that it looks like it. Psy-Fi said " Looks like a cross between bologna and what's commonly known in New England as 'Canadian bacon.'" I was just curious who calls it "Canadian bacon" and who calls it "back bacon." "Peameal bacon" is a type of back bacon that's been rolled in ground yellow peas, or cornmeal to extend shelf life.

Pork roll is sweet and tangy. I think it is somewhere between Salami and Summer Sausage, but you have to grill or fry it.

Maybe that is the common name for it in the U.S. and Canada. I had some friends from Montreal who used to call it "back bacon." I thought "Canadian bacon" was mostly used in the Northeastern U.S.

Most people up here call it "back bacon" or occasionally "peameal bacon". "Canadian bacon" is an American thing.

That's a very disturbing thing for a mod to say.

I just had a breakfast sandwich with pork roll in it last weekend. Pretty tasty. It was from the restaurant my daughter manages, which is a bit posh. They can do amazing things with low end food stuffs though.
