Can't get enough of this at the moment. It's got something about it that I just can't put my finger on. It's all over the place and at the same time manages to stay extremely cool. Wonderful tune.

The great Darrell Banks;

I'm no expert on this stuff by any stretch of the imagination. I do love what I've heard of it (a few compilations basically), and was actually going to go to the Twisted Wheel last month (I think it was called the Sunday Soul Session or something similar) 'til my mates decided to back on the idea (the bastards).

These are my favourites anyway;

Many more besides, but those get the most hits in my iTunes library.

Cindy Scott...classic.
Billy Butler's 'The Right Track'...absolutely no point on me commenting on this one.

'Just Like the Weather' is a well liked tune, but personally, not a favourite.
Dancing to this one is like wading through treacle. :/

Alright man, you will be surprised & I am surprised myself that I actually dig this type of music. Its probably due to the fact that my dad was a massive Paul Weller/Northern Soul/Mod fan & used to go to the all night lock in partys that you (used?) to get. Out of interest, I just bought this compilation about a year ago and was surprised at how much I liked it. I dont really listen to it on a regular basis though as its not really my scene. The only explanation I have is that it must just be in the genes.

It's got nothing to do with science son...it's a spiritual thing called 'soul'.
You've either got it, or you aint.

Haha, well it looks as though I have it, to a certain extent anyway. By the way have you checked out my 'Xtranormal Videos' thread yet? I just did a video on Sleepy Jack & I am pondering on doing you next which should be fun.
Anyway regarding that northern soul album I mentioned earlier, the songs I can remember liking a lot are Chuck Wood's 'Seven Days Too Long', Edwin Starr's '25 Miles', Jackie Wilson's 'Higher & Higher', Robert Knight's 'Love On A Mountain Top'. I also noticed that there is a song by Billy Butler & The Enchanters called 'Right Track'. Is this perhaps the inspirational origin of your username? Anyway Im gonna put this album on my pc and give it a proper listen. Ill get back to you!

I just checked this band out on youtube doing a cover of Chuck Wood's 'Seven Days Too Long'
Nice band, but the girl needs more soul in her voice.

That's no critism though, as it's a better attempt than Dexy's effort. Living up to the real thing is never going to be an easy task;
