MoonlitSunshine 11-06-2006 03:41 PM

Might be going to see Joanna Newsom in January

jemanji 11-07-2006 12:07 PM

Maybe, Bullet for my Valentine with Drop Dead, Gorgeous.

White Lies 11-07-2006 04:22 PM

Mono

All their songs followed a similar pattern - started out with sparse guitar work, which gradually built up until the band went crazy with heavily distorted noise. At times they were earth-crushingly loud and the guitarists used a range of effects - this was the band at their best. It was a ****ing unbelievable show. The kind of show that makes me wish I'd smoked some pot before I went.

Merkaba 11-07-2006 05:18 PM

I'd love to go see Mono, they've got such huge noise and thats just through my crappy 10 dollar speakers. These japs are renowned for their live shows.

cardboard adolescent 11-07-2006 05:27 PM

I'd like to see any post-rock band, period.

Instead, I'm seeing Black Keys on Thursday. Which will most likely kick ass.

MoonlitSunshine 11-08-2006 07:56 AM

^ I was told by a friend that they're amazing live. I wish I could've gone when there were here. Have fun!

coffeeshop 11-08-2006 07:59 AM

Might see The Sunshine Underground next Wednesday. Are they any good?

The Dave 11-08-2006 09:26 AM

^They are spectacular, you better go to that one.

Alo 11-08-2006 09:39 AM

I have yet another band to add to my list, Brand New, in February. And I might go see Paris Dandies, as it's free for employees anyway.

Raine 11-08-2006 09:30 PM

I went to see Placebo a few nights ago. at the Electric factory. I love Placebo.

fattyboomboom21 11-09-2006 01:04 PM

MoonlitSunshine 11-09-2006 01:10 PM

There's nothing wrong with George Michael!

Go! I'd say he'd be pretty good live, to say the least!

_Spinning_ 11-09-2006 03:20 PM

George Michael would be excellent live.

MURDER JUNKIE 11-09-2006 03:25 PM

It will be a ghey old time

Trauma 11-09-2006 08:12 PM

Why is Raine going to have my babies?

On topic.
I missed the U.K Subs/The Misfits/The Adicts show last weekend.
I also missed Chiodos/Every Time I Die show the weekend before.

Hopefully I'll go to one soon.

analogdemon 11-10-2006 05:34 PM

MoonlitSunshine 11-12-2006 05:54 AM

Personally I must say that MCR aren't that good...

ArtistInTheAmbulance 11-12-2006 05:57 AM

i do realise theyre pretty crappy, but, they have a bit of a knack for making the crap enjoyable..
i do like some of it.
& i know that makes me terribly uncool & seem hella prepubescent, but, eh.

MoonlitSunshine 11-12-2006 06:04 AM

hey, it's a free ticket, I understand...

Although the one free ticket I ever got was to Radiohead. THAT was fun!

Scarlett O'Hara 11-13-2006 12:27 AM

I'm going to a concert called Phat07 at new years, 60 different acts, with rock, drum and bass and dub. Freaking good times, I will be so high.

n2jrney 11-15-2006 10:14 AM

Just saw Guns n Roses / Papa Roach / Sebastian Bach in NYC the other night

n2jrney 11-15-2006 10:15 AM

Ah I saw Alice in Chains a few months back...Thought they were really good, actually even with the new singer.

Ma Cherie 11-20-2006 01:53 PM

trans sibriean orchestra with my dad

coffeeshop 11-23-2006 10:20 AM

I saw Sunshine Underground after all and they were pretty good but they couldn't play Commercial Breakdown because someone spilt beer on their guitar pedal.

I'm seeing Primal Scream this Saturday, can't wait! :)

Got Iron Maiden 14th Dec and The Coral 16th Dec too.

Urban Hat€monger ? 11-23-2006 09:05 PM

Primal Scream

TONIGHT :D :D :D :D

Spike*Spiegel 11-23-2006 09:14 PM

you bitch!!

Alo 11-25-2006 07:27 PM

I just went to a 2-night-festival... And it was sooo great!
Here are some reviews and tips:

Little Man Tate - Supposedly the 'next biggest thing', but they're kind of mainstream, they do not interact with the audience, and their songs are pretty simple. Pass them! ;)

The Rifles - Many of you might hate them, but they were so great live! There was so much energy in their show, and the songs sound a lot better live. And I met one of the guitar players, we shared sweat with a hug and a peck in the neck. <3 [/groupiemode]

Milburn - The band itself wasn't really interactive, just some young and nervous pups. But their music was awesome! The crowd went wild, and the music came out great!

Boy Kill Boy - Skip! The cd is pretty average, but it gets worse live, booooriiiing. Unless you keep looking at the drummer, he was making a total arse out of himself.

The Young Knives - Yaaaawn. -skip-

Klaxons - <33333 This was such a great show! If you like this band on cd, wait till you see them live. They blew up our ears, and the crowd almost caused an earthquake! The band itself didn't really act interesting. But what an original sound!

747's - -skip- Boring, and they went into the crowd telling people they were from the band 747's, how lame is that?

Jamie T - It's ok for background music, or maybe it was the fact that I was sitting down during this concert... Oh, the guitarist was pretty funny, he had a sigaret holder thingy on his guitar, and he kept being really foolish, in a cute way.

Bromhead's Jacket - If you can see these people live, do it! Geniouses! Great catchy lyrics, really energetic show, and the guitarist always jumps into the crowd, and hurts himself and his guitar. Making him crash up the guitar in the end, throwing THAT in the crowd, thereby knocking someone out... xD
*Too bad that there were English people in the crowd, they always tend to mosh. Come on, mosh to Bromheads Jacket? Idiots. A little riot is fun, hitting a girl in the face is just sick.

the Automatic - the cd is pretty average, but it was actually great live! Really energetic, fun, and even original. They threw in a rock version of kanye West's golddigger. It was great! <3

Guillemots - This music made me so horny, and it wasn't only great because of that. They use all kinds of different styles, add some uncommon stuff (for instance: a guy in a kimono-like-dress, a contrabass, and a garbagebin for an instrument). It's great for music in the background, but definitely also worth seeing live!

How was it!?

It was amazing in Norwich! Even though they missed out Kill All Hippies and Kowalski. The encore was Damaged, Loaded and Movin on Up!

Urban Hat€monger ? 11-30-2006 09:42 AM

Yeah they missed out those at the Hammersmith gig too.

Got the same encore too,as well as Kick Out The Jams. I guess a lot of people have never seen Primal Scream before coz I was the only person who was singing along to it.The group of girls in front of me were just sort of looking at each other with a puzzled look on their faces.

I love the new updated version of Sympathy for the Dev..... oops I mean Loaded :D

DearJenny 11-30-2006 10:01 AM

Going to Disturbed/Stone Sour/Flyleaf in less than a month! Woo! I was supposed to go to Children of Bodom tomorrow night but I dont have the money, I spent 20 bucks on nipples shields dammit!
