Was it that bad? I used to be a fan of QOTSA and I've seen them a few times. The first time I saw them was with Nick Oliveri and they were very good. But when I saw them at a festival after they released Lullabies To Paralyze I lost interest in them. The energy and danger just wasn't there and they (read Josh Homme) came across as self-indulgent and giving off a "we're awesome, listen to us" vibe. I think Songs For The Deaf was their last good album and kicking out Nick Oliveri was a huge mistake.

Except that Oliveri is a total d-bag from what I can tell. I guess I've never really heard his side of the story, but what's there to say about beating up your girlfriend?

it was Rye Coalition, Turbonegro and QOTSA.....in i think 2002 or 3.....it was when Turbonegro reformed after rehab and it was in Ashbury Park NJ......i went for Turbonegro and stayed for the first song of QOTSA....they were just uneventful, cocky and boring.....had more fun that night drinking and breaking into abandoned buildings on the shore

i mean if someone was to put them up in one of the groups i post in....or sincerely suggest them to me....i would listen to what ever album with an open mind....bgut as of now i just have not been impressed by them at all

I like Lullabies To Paralyze a lot but recognize that both Rated R and Songs For The Deaf as the two classic albums from the band. Era Vulgaris what a disappointing album that was.

Oh he's a complete douchebag alright, but when he was in QOTSA at least he brought something interesting to the band and also counter-balanced Josh Homme's ego. He kicked him out over drugs in the end.

I think this sums up early Queens pretty well

I agree, after Songs for the Deaf, Queens kind of lost their bite. What UnknownSoldier said sums up my feelings pretty well

I'm going to abstain from this vote due to the shock of finding out these albums came out 9 years ago already.
