Downloaded this yesterday. Absolutely awesome. 'Depression' is one of the coolest songs ever.

It used to be my favourite album when I was younger. I thought Pink Floyd was the coolest thing when I was five. I took a break from liking decent music when I was six to go listen to happy hardcore and the black eyed peas (I'm serious) and then I started liking pop music and Indie Pop at age eight, and when I was 11 I started getting into Boards Of Canada and decent music, and now I'm revisiting this. Great album!

Very nice. There's a Floyd thread floating about somewhere if you want to discus it more.

If I revisit this album and say that 'It used to be my favourite album when I was younger', that would mean I would have been 15 :p:. And anyone who likes Animals is the coolest person ever . Darn, I'm filled with shame knowing the kind of music I listened to when I was 5 :o:.

...as part of my psycho downloading spree. Been meaning to get this for a bit. I love it so far. I keep hearing about MBV from BOC and I thought I should get this so I wouldn't die of curiosity.

Surprised that you're taken with Loveless so quickly. It took me about 20 listens, and that's the case with a lot of people. They usually need a bit of time to get used to it, but once you do it gives you such eargasms.

I heard that too...
maybe because I listened to BOC billions of times and got this album because of the inexplicable similarity between the two. I've heard that BOC fans "get" this album the quickest somewheres...

Boards of Canada similar to My Bloody Valentine? I don't hear it. But you like experimental music in general, and all kinds of different sounds so you'd be more inclined to 'get' Loveless. I listened to Loveless when all I listened to was Oasis/Queen/AC.DC/Zeppelin etc. and it was a shock to the ears, at first.

I don't know why, but BOC and MBV just have something in common. But yeah, I listen to some pretty demented stuff, so it might be my musical preferences that made me get this.

I could see how it could be a shock to somebody when they first hear it...

I got into My Bloody Valentine after extensively listening to Sonic Youth, so it was never some great challenge for me to get Loveless. But, I must say, I quickly got bored of MBV. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
