I've been seeing Cap'n Jazz float around a lot on this forum so I decided to finally check them out.

Just downloaded:

So far I'm really happy this album has 34 tracks.

Quote:
Don't listen to them, TQID is a horrible album packed full of filler. Go for Meat Is Murder.
Heh, Meat Is Murder is my least favorite Smiths studio album.

I downloaded Jake Bellows live album today, Live at Slowdown it's called. I'm liking it. There is something about his voice I have always really loved.

Adorable - Against Perfection
I'm really loving this. Adorable were pretty much the black sheep of Creation in the early 90's and the record company didn't really bother much with them, which is a real shame because they were a brilliant band with excellent songs and real potential. Very similar to the likes of Catherine Wheel and Chapterhouse.

Stereolab - Emperor Tomato Ketchup
I really love Dots and Loops so i had to download this. Can't wait to listen to it later.

Wovenhand - Mosaic

Continuing my "gothic country" binge... great stuff

The Microphones - Mount Eerie

Glassjaw - Worship and Tribute

Sun Kil Moon - Ghosts of the Great Highway

Cat Power - You Are Free

And some Arvo Part.

This is their first album in 4 years and they've responded with this sprawling double album. Clocking in at just over 2 hours of music this is certainly a hugely ambitious space-rock album. I'm listening to it at the moment and so far my impressions are fairly positive, the music doesn't quite have the heavy guitar crunch of their first 2 albums but the band seem to have expanded their musical horizons a good bit. It will take a few more listens to determine whether this album is a stroke of genius or an exercise in over-ambitious self-indulgence.

I love the first Amplifier album and feel it is severely under rated, yet the second album didn't do a whole lot for me and I did hear rumours that they had split soon after but they are back. Have a link spare?

Tripswitch - Geometry

wonderfully smooth and mellow downtempo electronic

Bushy - Hiya!

more chill electronic goodness

Bajka - In Wonderland

if you've heard Bonobo's newest, you'll know Bajka's voice from tracks such as Days To Come and Walk In The Sky.
this, her solo album, is a jazzy downtempo piece with a similar feel.

I am liking what you are posting here. Especially like Bajka. As you say, her work on Bonobo's Days To Come album is really good. Top post

Bought yet more back catalogue stuff:

Yes I do like Pat Benetar. Sue me.

Chemical Brothers music holds up well apart from some of the flavour of the month guest vocals.

Some great mixes on here.

Downloaded:

New Wire album and it is damn good.

Gorillaz - The Fall (2010)

Sorry I couldn't find any cover art... well it's free so I can't really complain but... if you thought Plastic Beach (2010) was different than this will only further strengthen that idea, still free is free and if you're like me and sometimes want the whole collection, grab it. It's got some cool beats but other than that it's pretty forgettable.

The Bear That Wasn't- And So It Is Morning Dew

Thanks to TheFolkslave for posting that song on the review thread, I loved it and was immediately compelled to download the album.

The first Amplifier album is amazing, Insider is good but just not as good as their debut. Sent you a PM by the way
