For some reason I've never gotten this album until now. The fact that it is May 4th might have had something, or most of everything to do with it. But it's pretty good.

I used to LOVE this album. Back when it was out of print and there was no internet to easily get it from. One of my friends had it, and I kept trying to borrow it so I could make a copy. Then she couldn't find it and it was so annoying. Anyway, I don't feel like it's held up all that well for me. I still think it's a great album, but when I listen to it I seem focus more and more on the things I don't like about it, ruining my enjoyment a bit.

i only bought it because of the album art work. I had no clue what i was going to get when i poped it in the CD player. But I was in love with the art work.
In all honesty it was a amazing!

Its a great Celtic punk group from Chicago, I would rank them up there with Flogging Molly and Drop Kick Murpheys

T Rex - Dandy in the Underworld - 2CD set, released by Rhino. Can't wait to hear the whole experience with this album!

The Replacements - Don't Tell a Soul - Ready for another article in the 80's Cut Out Journal, this disc brings back memories of finding the cassette in the bargain bins at a couple of big stores. Sad to see a great band wind up there (See Also: Devo), but in a way it's with the usual perfect timing, this time being the fall of the great bands that got lumped into the College Rock genre through the Mid 80's and burned out. As usual with these bands, these album are seriously worthy of another listen as you know the listener will get some good songs anyways. It's The Replacements, and you know that there will be quality...not Tim or Let It Be quality, but a couple of standout songs that will still tower over a lot kind of quality.

The B 52's - Party Mix and Mesopotamia - A great CD of 52's goodness!!! Finally have these EPs in my collection, and Mesopotamia certainly has a strong interest with me through it's David Byrne production that took their style to somewhere a little more interesting than usual.

Bauhaus - Burning From the Inside - "She's In Parties" brings back a lot of memories, and now having the album in the collection again, this time on CD, the rest will possibly bring back more.

I've been slower than usual at getting new albums recently, something to do with buying a house and moving I think. But here are my latest:

The Black Angels - Directions to See a Ghost (2008)
I realized today that this is the only album of theirs I hadn't heard yet, so I'm rectifying that with Spotify right now.

The Hussy - Pagan Hiss (2013)
Pretty fun psych/punk/garage rock stuff. Just one listen so far, but I was fairly impressed.

Darkstar - News From Nowhere (2013)
I had my eye on this a while back, but have been a bit reluctant to put it on, fearing that it may be too ambient or boring. Instead, it's got good energy and sounds that hold my attention quite well. Some of the tracks are reminding me of Merriweather-era Animal Collective, and it just so happens that's my favorite of theirs so that's cool. The album as a whole has its own feeling though, and doesn't just feel like neo-psych. It has a good summery vibe like Bibio's Ambivalent Avenue, but more relaxed. I don't love the album cover but it fits the sounds.

Aloha Screwdriver ~ The Haunted Planet

One of the best surf instrumental albums I've heard this year.

More used CD finds!

Isaac Hayes - Juicy Fruit (Disco Freak) - The last of the ABC albums after leaving Stax (The reformed Stax now has the album).

9 1/2 Weeks Soundtrack + Dream a little Dream of Me - Two for the "Now Showing at the Mall Theater" for the Ghost Mall Music journal. I'm ready to have some braincells killed with some of the music on these discs. Dream... is a buffet of 80's thrown together including the US Hit cover of "Rock On" mauled (MALL-ed!) by Michael Damien and a Fee Waybill track, plus the un-welcome appearance of already has-beem Mickey Thomas on a cover of "Dream..." all for a film produced by 80's VHS titan Vestron, which was about to go away quickly. 9 1/2 Weeks is that was supposed to be some kind of kinky risque film featuring another 80's buffet including John Taylor and a waiting for a new label Devo...I'm ready to dive into this cut-out ready mess.

Boy George - High Hat - US compilation of tracks from two albums from the Culture Club singer.

Public Image Limited - 9

Keith Richards - Talk Is Cheap - I still have to hear that solo album. Clearly better than Mick Jagger's pale attempts at a solo career, but it would be good to hear it in full for a complete review.

Plus on bargain find...
Dave Gahan - Paper Monsters - The 2002 release I'm already checking out. Sounds good! This is the limited CD + DVD set!!!

Yay!
Finally found a bootleg from the Sin After Sin tour in 77.
Nice knee high white boots & pink pants. I thought Halford was supposed to be the gay guy in the band.
