Jawbreaker - Dear You

For some reason I've never gotten this album until now. The fact that it is May 4th might have had something, or most of everything to do with it. But it's pretty good.

Black Flag—My War
I've heard it before in the context of my old roommate playing it in college, but I've never owned it for myself and sat and given it a focused listen. Finally did today and I really, really like it.

Black Flag—I Can See You
I had a cassette copy of this when I was fourteen and hadn't listened to it in close to 20 years. The song "Out of this World" is still as amazing as is "You Let Me Down".

DJ Krush & Toshinori Kondo - Ki-Oku

Apparently an awesome Jazz / Hip Hop fusion album. Looking forward to it.

I saw a few people post some punk and metal stuff, so I thought I'd throw these duders into the pot.

Crown the Empire. They're a Rise Records band, so that obviously means there's some screaming and staccato/breakdown-esque riffs, but the production is top notch, and, in my not so humble opinion, their song writing/song progressions are much more elaborate than most in their genre while not being long winded.

Right before I listened to them, I got into Sleeping With Sirens, who are much more melodic, but the riffing is more chordal, so for guitar heavy peeps, it might not be as interesting. And, for anyone that misses guitar solos, Falling In Reverse has a nice way of mixing modern pop/rock with a little bit of aggro and shredding like it's the 80's.

Hope you czech em out!

Yellow Magic Orchestra - Yellow Magic Orchestra (1978)

Pretty good Synth Pop in my opinion.

GZA - Liquid Swords

My favourite Wu release. Better than 36 Chambers in my opinion.

Chance The Rapper, 10 Day and [I]Acid Rap.[/I

I downloaded both of these at the same time and listened to them both immediately. Two mixtapes from a 20 year old, very soulful, playful rapper coming out of Chicago. The first mixtape was made in part while he was still in highschool, the second is new.

Both albums have very heavy soul, gospel, and jazz influences. He alternates between rapping and almost singing, with a lot of overdub and backup singers. Both albums are very enjoyable, but the second one is perhaps a little better. I need to listen more to make a really informed opinion, but I like what I hear.

Been listening to Roxy Music for years, figured it was about time I listened to some of his solo stuff.
