OT: I have no idea...some shitty indie flavor of the month. I stopped caring...*depressed*

Opeth - Damnation, Blackwater Park, and Ghost Reveries. I would have got those albums sooner, because Opeth is amazin, but they really takes a certain kind of mood for me to get past the really dark feel to their stuff.

I have had this legendary soundtrack on Cassette (!) since the day it came out (1994-12 years late even then!) but finally managed to get it on CD today.

Do you like it? I heard River W/ Corrinne Bailey Rae (SP?), and it was quite beautiful.

The original album remastered. An extra disc of unreleased tracks and a DVD with a documentary and 5 music videos plus a 24 page booklet. Tidy.

Molecules 03-21-2008 12:27 PM

^^is that the BBC documentary that aired like 6 years ago?

jackhammer 03-21-2008 12:36 PM

I have'nt seen it yet but it could well be. It says that there are more extras to the original doc , so possibly yes.

Molecules 03-21-2008 12:38 PM

i just downloaded beach house, the raveonettes and some rilo kiley albums. which is odd, i'm not really into bands with female leads

sleepy jack 03-23-2008 07:13 PM

They're all great though, minus Under the Blacklight (Rilo Kiley's latest.)

i can't lie, that's the only one i've had any time to listen to so far. and i think it's fantastic. i listened to more adventurous for just a tiny bit.. don't fret though, i will be listening to their other albums (especially after seeing so much criticism for utbl on this board)

ProggyMan 03-23-2008 10:54 PM

Swordfishtrombones-Tom Waits
Not as good as Rain Dogs. Rain Dogs seems to have a cleaner feel, while retaining his trademark grittiness. Hard to explain. The music is more accesible and the vocals better, but the subject matter is just as dark. The vocals are also just as gravelly.

SATCHMO 03-24-2008 12:45 AM

Ok, I'm not the biggest classical music fan, but I do know what I like and this is it. Far and away it is the most beautiful, powerful, and musically innovative piece of music i've listened to in a very long time, and I highly recommend tis album anyone who's interested in getting more into the genre, but simply hates sifting through piles of Gayness to get to something worthy of listening to.

the13thzen 03-24-2008 12:55 AM

The Across the Universe soundtrack. Some of these covers are pretty good. Happiness is a Warm Gun and Let It Be are amazing.

I own about 6 TD albums but their discography runs to 200+ albums so this boxset is just a drop in the ocean! If you want to get into Electronica, this is a good place to start.
