Took delivery today of a couple of great Aussie CDs...
Watch Me Disappear - Augie March Succumb - David Bridie Been looking forward to hearing both of these with much excitement... having quite the enjoyable night of new musical discovery! Also finally got a copy of REM live... just cuz I am a completist, ya know... |
|
What are your thoughts on the later Live albums? I loved their first three but the latter half of their career has kinda left me disappointed...

http://www.justforkicks.de/images/products/9229_g.jpg Gazpacho - Tick Tock (2009) Interesting Norwegian prog. album that seems to be getting a lot of attention recently. Cross Talk Talk, Radiohead and Marillion (with a bit of Floyd)together and you'll have an idea at what these guys are like. It's currently at 9th place or so on the Best Prog. Albums of All Time list on progarchives.com (which is unprecedented considering how new this release is), so I'd highly recommend everyone to atleast give it one listen or two. http://www.mishmashmagazine.com/Port..._of_ghosts.jpg Brian Eno & David Byrne - My Life in the Bush of Ghosts (1981) Love it love it love it! Some real studio wizardry (well, it is Eno and Byrne working together after all...) went into this, and I can't even imagine how many minds it blew two decades back when this collaborative effort hit the shelves. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZoIAtRxt31...ontuq4_036.jpg Jon & Vangelis - Private Collection (1983) I love Vangelis's style when it comes to electronica/New Age, and I love Jon Anderson's vocals, and this is their best album together. Hence, I had to dl it at some point. A particular highlight here is the gorgeous 23-minute long Horizon, combining these two guys's respective approaches to music perfectly into a singular, defining statement to the world. Good stuff! |
It's been too long since I last went on a download spree, so I went a bit nuts today.
