Pretty much. It's not as good as the Grey Album but only because 27 tracks means a few are bound to be filler. Still a solid album though.

Barstool Prophets - Last of the Big Game Hunters

One of my favourite unknown Canadian rock bands that just disappeared off the face of the Earth. I got the physical copy for a buddy of mine who got me into them because I couldn't find a download (legal or otherwise) anywhere.

Took me awhile to really get into it. First listen I was pretty underwhelmed by it, it was OK, but nothing really stuck out and was memorable. It wasn't until later that I was writing an essay with that album playing in the background and it just really worked. It's a step closer to a more refined and classical sound, yet they're still retaining their metal-esque sound. Definitely an underrated album of 2009 that I shamefully nearly wrote off too early.

Also, here's my newest addition to my library, I wasn't even aware Samael put out an album last year :(

Considered Pakistan's greatest singer (died 1997), this 'greatest hits' is four tracks, two of around 25 minutes and two of 12 minutes. Nusrat performs the Sufi devotional music of Qawwali. Difficult to describe with my narrow experience, but it is like Middle Eastern modes performed with some of the Indian classical music tools like tabla etc... and our old friend Mr. harmonium! Very cool.

What a coincidence, I was listening to him yesterday, as some friend was kind of lecturing me about him. Surprisingly breathtaking voice, and great music all in all.
Got any links by any chance?

yes! I can't get enough of it, once you lock into the tracks his voice quickly induces an undulating trancestate, f*cking amazing to be honest. You have cool friends.
