Man, this guy's vocals are a bit more grating than I anticipated. I would have probably loved this 8 years ago. Now? I don't know, we'll see. Some of the better parts of the vocals remind me of Blair Shehan from Knapsack and The Jealous Sound. The guitars do as well. I highly suggest that you guys who are enjoying this album check out Knapsack. Overall I do think it's well done and sounds comparable to 90s emo bands, maybe too much for a 2009 album. But if that's what you're looking for, it's a winner.
I quite liked this cover... too bad you had to say grating.

In The Name Of Suffering. I thought it was pretty standard Sludge stuff but this one is way more than that.

yeah i would agree that 'Take As Needed For pain' is a much better album....although the song "Hit A Girl" is one of the most disturbing songs i've ever heard....'Dopesick' is their opus....seeing eyehategod live was one of the most violent moments of my life...the singer is an absolute basket case

To Sidewinder:
I love the Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) album. Im a huge Mineral fan so I like this albums 90s emo vibe but I can understand your point.

To James:
Hospice is something that is really dear to my heart. When I first listened to it I wasn't that impressed myself but after listening to it couple times from start to finish some part of my soul died with it. Such a sad sad album. Love it.

Well perhaps it wil grow on me, if it does i'll be sure to tell you
I think the problem is that i've only been giving patchy listens and not sitying down and focusing on it as a whole, which i've heard is the best way to enjoy this album.

I think i'm gonna get Dopesick soon, I got it recommended to me on another site as well and it sounds promising.

I wasn't really impressed. The previous albums were way better. This one seemed like it lacks something.

It's one of those bands I feel I should have listened to way earlier, but for some reason haven't. I've noticed that many people here love them so I was reminded constantly to actually give them a proper, active listen. And so I'm starting from the start.

Hua Lun - Asian River

Lonely China Day - This Readily Assimilative People

PK14 - Whoever, Whoever and Whoever

...and today, I learned that modern Chinese post-rock and post-punk is actually really really cool.
