I would prefer to be Dinosaur Jr and pay horrendious prices for tickets while playing in small venues to indie people who go there to look hip and buy out all the tickets before the fucking people who actually like the band get to see them. I would also play Deep Wound songs to piss all these people off.

Keep the girlfriend.

And I think it would be better for a band to play at smaller venues in front of an audience that geuninely likes them. Rather than play at the bigger venues in front of an audience they may have one or two favorite songs by you.
It makes the job more worthwhile.

PS: if your girlfriend is hot then definitely keep her. But if she's hot and you're not big on looks, then . . . still keep her. But only if she makes you happy.

i dont care how many people would turn up to my gig tbh.

and having the exact taste as your partner is great.. means you can share a record collection and go to gigs together and get each other into new stuff.

I like small venues. BUT if you have to fork out 300 plus dollars just to get a damn a ticket go ahead and play in a damn stadium so I can get my 30 dollar back row seat.

Expletive Deleted, I know you have a hatred for the Arctic Monkeys but don't deny that loads of people got back into British Rock etc. after Arctic Monkeys released their debut album and it flew off the shelves. Before that album was released everyone was bumming off rap, since then the tides have changed. You may not like them but don't deny fact.
