AIC was the best to come out of that scene IMO.

I like the FF. Good songs with lots of crunch. And they respect their elders.

That Jack White and the White Stripes are important.

Disagree.

Musically they're not bad. Nothing brilliant, but they're better than most ****ty radio rock bands. They just need to boot their singer. Dude has no business singing in a professional band.

I'm not some punk out to destroy rock, but music could do with a little less respect for the elders. Its left us with nonsense ideas that classic rock bands from the sixties and seventies -- and only certain bands pre-approved by Rolling Stone Magazine and boring classic rock stations mind you -- were somehow the pinnacle, not only of rock music, but music in general.

And respect for the elders of classical music has left modern composers as mere footnotes. Granted, pop music helped a lot, but the idea that somehow a couple guys named Mozart and Beethoven just happen to be the be all and end all of music harms modern classical composers.

Critically acclaimed in indie rock circles, but not with me.

Before Hail To The King I'd agree. However that album really changed my view on them.

For the sake of innovation, i agree with all this.
though you always gotta give respect where respect is due.

The FF bringing out Jimmy was more like fan service than an homage cause we all know Jimmy page already gets enough credit as legendary guitarist.

As nostalgic and entertaining as it is at the end is just rehashing old hits

Mozart and Beethover are not somehow reaching beyond the grave and ruining their careers of those Modern composers like some kind of zombie vigilantes - get real. Modern composers harms themselves with their atonale jabberings. Mozart and Beethoven sought beauty, order, melody and harmony in their music and the modernist challenges those ideas and look who is left standing. boiya modernist composer you just pawn3d by some def guy and a dude who was rub out for revealing Masonic secrets.

Jason Becker>Jeff Beck
We should start a sect of Buddhism that uses John Cage's philosophy as their doctrine.
The Big Bubble is the best Residents album.
David Gilmour has soul and plays fantastic songs with Floyd, but I think he got too pretentious and needs to cool it with the New Age shit.
And I'd Death Grips made Government Plates before The Money Store. you guys would've been bitching about how much The Money Store sucks.
