Unpopular opinion: it doesn't matter how technical, analog, composed, or artistic music is. What matters is if the music is good or not.

For sure. We just all have different definitions of "good".

And weird for the sake of weird is the same as punk bands who purposely wouldn't tune their instruments. Or garage rock bands that went for the worst lo-fi sound possible. What's the point?

Just yelling at clouds here.

The thing to remember with garage bands is they weren't lo-fi for the sake of being lo-fi, it was just the tools of their trade. Harmonic quality is the friend of enharmonic equivalents.

What would you prefer be accomplished by an artist being weird then? And how can you be sure of their intent? Is it possible that they had a new idea and you just think it's weird because it's foreign?

I think it's better for an artist to be trying new things than to play it safe and just be normal like all the other boys.

See, I dig Billy the Mountain. I love Floyd's Ummagumma. Tubular Bells is incredible. And raw rock and roll is great.

I forgot if I was trying to make a point....

A duet with Elvis costello.

I gotta question for you, do you see any artistic merit in lyrics? i think vocalist have alot of guts, i find it's way easier to play your guitar and focus on that than getting on a mic and singing something i wrote.

It feels alot more vulnerable because your voicing your view on life and exposing who you are through your words as opposed to relying solely on your instrument to do it for you.

Hmmm, my music isn't weird to perpetuate world hunger.

If we ever collaborated, the music would create a whole new form of consuming. Possibly absorbing essential elements into your skin through osmosis.
