Metal fronted by old man Lou Reed is kinda cool. It's not nearly as bad as I remembered.

I listened to it for the first time last year and couldn't understand why it has such a bad rep. It's not good but it's nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. Highly entertaining for the lyrics alone.

I have issues with a lot of post-hardcore, because the singers sound like angry, whiny teenagers and teenagers are the scum of the world.

Same here. Such was my case with the singer of Drive like Jehu or Tokyo police club but like those cases sometimes you gotta give a band some time until you get used to their style. First impressions change over time when you get used to the band.
