All this Nirvana hate aside, what most people forget about Cobain was that he had chronic bronchitis and was always in a lot of freaking pain from other **** too. And so while this is not an excuse for his behalf or anything, I often think that his heroin use (and the image that resulsted) was begun in order to escape from this pain that plagued him daily. The addiction that ensued is probably what caused him to go over the edge in the first place.

Wait, so it's okay that he shot up because he had a pulmonary disease? When did opiates become the prescribed treatment for COPD?

When did I ever say that a doctor prescribed him heroin? He made a choice to start needling on his own, and it was honestly a stupid one IMO.

People who are in a lot of pain don't think rationally for the most part.

I don't think you can make a judgement like that about someone commiting sucide unless you've been in a position where you're unhappy enough to conisder it. The closest you've come to suicide is when you tried to download a raidohead bootleg and you megaupload download limit had exceeded.

How is ending your self selfish? Considering most of the things we do we do to stay alive or make living more comfortable, it seems like suicide is one of the most selfless things a person can do. I guess running off an leaving Courtney Love to shoulder his fortune was a pretty bastard move.

Yeah. I just don't understand how him having a daughter makes a difference when it comes to him killing himself. He would have been a terrible father anyway.
