Sir Paul Macca wrote some great Beatles songs; frinstance Yesterday, Blackbird, Elenor Rigby and Hey Jude. Also wrote some clunkers like Rocky Racoon and ObladiOblada.

Yellow Submarine sits somewhere in the middle imo; it was a fun song at the time, with some pretty novel features ( The sound effects, the topic, the little joke about living next door). To me the only prob with Yellow Submarine is its over-exposure; who would've thought that a 3-min piece of jokey ephemera would still be listened to 40 years down the line?

Obladi Oblada is actually pretty great, once you get your taste implants in.

Mine came with the package. Full warranty, and checked daily by Doctor Feelgood.

There's your problem. Doctor Feelgood was sent to jail recently for working without a licence.

Nah, you're thinking of Doctor Nightwish. He was giving out fake implants that turned people into melodic metal and adult contemporary fans who felt a burning sensation whenever anything with an ounce of badassitude got too close to them.
