It's true. Dylan is really more of a poet than a lyricist. His rhymes don't fit the music as well as Simon's.

Another post in the right place!

I'm not trying to start you, I'm just saying that, right or wrong, (and I really don't care enough to have an opinion on this) that's an unpopular music opinion. That's what this thread is about after all and yet there seems to be some rather popular opinions over the past pages, so, good work!

Yeah and we've been arguing what these past few posts? Oh thats right, about the lyrics, the words themselves. Aside from that folk isn't about being neat, if you want neat go listen to Jessica Simpson.

And I stil think America>Anyhing Dylan ever did. The original discussion was Simon as a songwwriter.

Yeah to which I replied Nick Drake is a better songwriter and then explained why I felt that then you just went "blah blah blah insult > blah blah"

Folk is about me and you :) lolz I've been watching too much Rainbow Quest but I really do just like listening to him talk. It showed me that "punk" ethics are really folk ethics. By far best show ever . Owns any time period of MTV.

Dylan's lyrics PERFECTLY fit his music. He is one of the few artists, that has utilised the lyric as having as much importance as the song itself. I am not a big Dylan fan, but i appreciate greatly his contribution to modern music. Have a listen to LIKE A ROLLING STONE. The opening snare beat opened up rock music everywhere. It was different.

I think Nick Drake is a better songwriter. That's my brother who said Simon was the greatest. I just dislike Bob Dylan. Stop confusing us.
