Meh I don't want to see rock stars coming across like a UNICEF advert. I dont really like Bono's holier than thou approach to it all, i'd much prefer a picture of him snorting a line off Lindsay Lohans breasts than waving one of those gaudy oversized cheques. Yes I know I'm going to hell in a purple basket.

I guess I can understand that, but for someone like Bono who is at least TRYING to make a difference, you'd think people would give him a little credit, but instead he just gets shat on by everyone.

Oh, and U2's "Pop" is underrated.

I totally agree with this.

Anybody who grew up in the UK in the 1980`s having listened to U2`s very straightforward and boring sound and then constantly being told about how great the band was, how great Bono was as a vocalist and what a great guitarist The Edge was supposedly meant to be, is probably enough to put any self respecting music fan off Bono and U2 for good.

On a quality scale I`d say they were better than Bon Jovi, but not quite as good as the Dire Straits and I wouldn`t listen to the Dire Straits if you paid me.

You grew up in the 80s? I was under the impression you were a lot younger than that.

I don`t know whether to take that as an insult or a compliment

It's really neither I guess. It's just the list of people close to my age on MB is pretty short, I wasn't aware you were one of them. How old are you if you don't mind my asking?

The Joshua Tree I guess. I'm not super into them but I always thought they were decent.
