I agree with Urbans analysis that the Velvet Underground are overrated.
Great band for their time, influential and groundbreaking...for their time.

What gets me, is how they are put on pedestals in modern times.
Probably, only because it's "cool" to like them.

Well then educate us oh wise one.

I`ve not seen you post any of your own opinions yet , just lay into that of others.

Or are you afraid a few 'idiots' will laugh at you?

haha touche good sir! Lets seeee I guess I'll use an example I used earlier to start

If you listen to wolfmother, you should be tazered to death.

Pantera is the most overrated metal band ever. Dimebag was not good and phil has never been in a band worth mentioning.

I didn't know this was an unpopular opnion but Yes > Roxy music I can definetly agree with.

And apparently there is a lot of Modest Mouse hate on this board. Don't understand why. Besides that radio song, their discography has been legit as ****.

Gilmour > barrett but barrett is a far more interesting human being.

The misuse of the term "indie" is almost mind boggling. It means indepenent music.

Nirvana had some catchy songs but they ruined the underground music scene. I wish they were never a band.

Popular punk bands suck more times than not.

Anyone who thinks there hasn't been any good cd's to come out in years need to get their head out of MTV's ass an look around. Some of the most brilliant cd's have come out in the past 10 years.

Hehe, here we go...

I think KoRn are great.

I can't stand Screamo or HardCore or whatever you want to call it, the constant double pedal and the screaming and the lask of much talent really gets on my nerves. I may be wrong, but it's been true for all that I've heard of it.

The same goes for most thrash metal, slayer and the like.

Megadeth kick ass, and Risk > Rust in Peace

Why the hell do modern mainstream bands have to constantly repeat and copy older music? it's perfectly possibly to even be a tiny bit original, perfectly replicating your influences isn't cool, it's lame, get a life, get inspiration, or don't make music, they clog up the airways, and make actual original bands who sound Good hard to find, cause of all those damn scene/Emo/10 year old wannabe punks who listen to one single on repeat all F*cking day.

I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of it right now

right-track 10-14-2006 12:49 PM

The Strokes are a bag of shite.

And it's always been the case.
Even in the 80's.

Edit: Especially in the 80's.
