Not at all. RJD influenced many with both Rainbow and his solo work but Ozzy had already done his job with Sabbath influentially so his solo work will always be overshadowed. However Diary Of A Madman deserves a lot more credit on Metal 'Best of' lists. It is one of the best 80's Metal albums out there.

I agree with Diary Of A Mad Man as well.

I personally think that Zakk Wylde just simply gets a bad rep by most critics, and doesn't receive the credit for his influence on the metal sub-genres of the present day. I admit that his style and technique is not up to par when compared with other guitarist like his rival Randy Rhoads for example. But his style is very innovative in the studio when considering effects and the power of the electric guitar, as being one of the best as a solid and powerful "wall of guitars" in recording.

I don't know if this is unpopular, but McCartney and the Wings' "Band on the Run" is the best post-Beatles, Beatles-related album.

George Harrison's All Things Must Pass, and John Lennon's Double Fantasy are also close contenders for best the post-Beatles release imo. George Harrison's first solo album after the break-up, All Things Must Past sold more or charted better than the other early releases from his former band mates. And Double Fantasy have some of the best post-Beatles songs imo.

I guess you`re including Jefferson with that as well. Apart from Mickey Thomas they had some great vocalists which included Marty Balin, David Freiberg and of course Grace Slick. Not sure I`d put Mickey Thomas above any of those, but he is very good.

The problem with both Jefferson Starship/Starship was that you had a band with great vocalists and great musicians, who were sadly just contented to dish out a bland commercial rock sound because it was guaranteed to sell albums. It was a shame really considering just how creatively brilliant their parent group Jefferson Airplane had been. The only albums on any note were Dragonfly and Knee Deep in the Hoopla (which I know was as commercial as hell) but it had a lot of great stuff on it and was certainly Mickey Thomas`s best.

Mickey Thomas' best vocal is on the Elvin Bishop song "Fooled Around and Fell In Love"

Yes, I was including the earlier versions of the band, and I agree the focus was too commercial at times. I don't know who David Freiberg is (or was), but I definitely put Thomas above the other two vocally. I don't think Grace Slick's voice is particularly good. She's overrated for her persona.
