I don't think what you are seeing is ignorance, I think what you are seeing is apathy.

So in short, pick your battles better because nothing you are saying about this is particularly new or a great surprise to anyone.

Look at how everyone has reacted to what you've said so far. Every one of those people found the way you're making your case to be in some form of bad taste. I think Urbans point was a good one. It certainly is apathy to a great degree. I don't think anyone is prejudice in anyway when it comes to Elvis, I just think they grow weary of the discussion as its all been done. He certainly was a polarizing figure because he was such a huge celebrity throughout his entire life. I wouldn't say African American performers don't get any love on the Site. The Rap/Hip Hop and Pop sections get lots of activity and people in general really enjoy their ability. The Reggae section not so much which is a travesty because there is so much talent in the genre.

I dislike when people attack artists on things that has nothing to do with their music. I find it disrespectful. If artists should be critique it should be about their music and not about their personal life, its very immature.

I believe Elvis should receive that same equal treatment but then again I think ALL artists/singers should.

Most music discussions and topics go in circles.

^ I heard he was abusive to Yoko. I dont have all the history about his life but he is my favorite Beatle. I liked his singing and songwriting.
