he also made songs about her and basically told the world he didn't care what anybody thought of her cause he loved her.

i also think the public doesn't really know the inner workings of that relationship cause she stayed by his side until his death and she doesn't seem like the type that stays with an abusive husband.

i mean idk, im just speculating i didn't know them personally.

Why does the media project this image that John Lennon was a peace maker and was all "Love not War" when he was acting like an ass towards people? Was it because of the way he died? His music covers social issues which is why I always thought he was a peaceful loving man. It actually made me like him more.

Thats the most common occurence in music. You can't spend most of your waking time with someone and not grow a little tired of them. Especially when egos get involved, and creating music and bouncing ideas off of one another is hard at times, when you are working with controlling people. Lennon always came acrossed as an egomaniac.

Yea i get that, but what if he wasn't all that and he was just a regular guy who can be as peaceful as he is violent? what if he isn't as one dimensional as the media portrayed him?

cause let's not forget with public figures sensationalism is a must, all it takes to label him an abusive husband is him calling Yoko a bitch in public one time and some journalist over hearing it, but what if he was just mad at her at the moment?

i wanna make clear im not trying to blindly defend the guy i do think he alot of flaws and yea maybe at times he was a bit of a dick but i think those negative flaws are sometimes exaggerated simply because he was John lenon.

That and because he was a Beatle. I imagine the same reason they let Ringo Starr on late night talk shows while the host pretends he makes good music.

Thanks. I was on another forum and they were harshly bashing him and claiming he was a horrible person like most in here have said. I have never had that image of him and I think my image of him was mainly what the media projected.

It is never acceptable for a man to put his hands on a woman, unacceptable. I also get turned off when ex band mates bad talk their band mates, its just not tasteful. I still love John lennon as an artist but wow this was a eye opener, thanks.
