I get the piss taken out of me for my music all the time.
People say I have **** taste and when people say anything about bad music they bring up bands I like just to annoy me. I do the same to them and suddenly i'm a know-it-all snob ****head who nobody gives a **** about.

I have noticed that knocking on peoples' taste doesn't really occur here, and that's a really great thing. I'd have been really uncomfortable posting if I thought I'd be crapped on for listening to mall indie.

I think it's more about presentation than anything. If you show up here acting like a **** and then you mention a band that most of us here think is total crap....yeah, prepare for a **** storm. There have been a load of people who roll through acting like normal humans who like crap music, but they were nice so they don't get it so bad.

Haha, I wasn't thinking of anyone in particular. Even if the regular posters here like stuff I don't, generally I think everyone here has a pretty solid foundation in good music.
