Yup. They toured with him or something like that and ended up collaborating, but I had thought it was Carboniferous where they introduced him into the mix without ever fact-checking it. Still, quite the phenomenal drummer.

Nah, Serbian only came in a few years later.
I only heard him on the new Zu recordings and with The Locust.
(Tried Cattle Decapitation, but didn't really care for it.)
Any other bands of his I should check out?

I like Head Wound City a lot.

Are you sure that he didn't tour with them? I found out about Serbian through Zu, and that was years before Cortar Todo was released.

Battaglia left in 2011. Serbian has toured with them before officially joining the band, but I don't think it was before Battaglia left.

Never heard of Head Wound City, will check them out.

Indy has fostered a pretty awesome, albeit small, hip hop community that's been making strides lately. Check out Sirius Blvck if you're remotely interested.

how local we talkin here cus within a 1 mile radius we have like 4 bars of **** LOL

Frownland 09-22-2015 09:44 PM

You only have four ****ty measures in your area? Must be a thriving grindcore scene going on.

I want to actually turn my downtown into a hub of local music. Because where I come from they have a day dedicated to music downtown each month and it's really great walking down the street with city slickers playing their obscure shit. But I don't know where to start.

Another addition is Cattle Decapitation and anything else Gabe Serbian has been associated with. I think my favourite is his work on Zu's Carboniferous. Jammed with him once at a jazz workshop and it was righteous, easily the best drummer I've ever played with.

We also have Justin Pearson, who ****ing rules.

I saw Drive by Jehu at Sled Island this year in Calgary. Good stuff. Calgary's local scene is pretty good. Lots of post hardcore, goth/post punk, jangly girl pop. Lot's of things I enjoy.

Big Punk and Indie scene from where I'm at. There's a few rather revered Stoner Metal bands on the nearby coast too.
