Antioch Arrow... Heroin... The Locust... you guys are quite lucky when it comes to punk bands. The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower had a legendary performance there as well. |
Local bands in your area
Being a virtual shut-in, I haven't managed to get to any gigs in the last ten years or so, so I can't help. But thought it might be interesting for you all to clue us in on the local bands in your area whom you think need listening to. Maybe a free plug for them. Vids if you have them, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, whatever.

Living in Chicago (south side), I have access to dozens of live concerts every single night, but I only get out every once in a while to catch a show, and it's usually because I know somebody in the band, or a friend of a friend kind of thing. Here are some of those that come to mind...
My homies: Here's their Reverbnation page: Convoy! https://www.reverbnation.com/convoy/songs# __________________________________________________ ___________________________________ Another one from around here, and features Tina Marie (who was the vocalist on the last tune of my Cheap Guitars album, as well as the singer in my old band): Stillwater Still Water Band - Band in Chicago IL - BandMix.com __________________________________________________ ___________________________________ I've seen these guys live a few times, and I'm always blown away by their live performances: McCarthy Road https://www.reverbnation.com/mccarthyroad __________________________________________________ ___________________________________ My good friend (who I always happen to run into at concerts) is the bass player in this band. Glenn used to be in the same band as Tina and me. Sausagebrain https://www.reverbnation.com/sausagebrain __________________________________________________ ___________________________________ Another friend of a friend kind of situation. The bass player from this band used to date my x-GF's niece. I'd been to his house a few times to jam. Funny thing, the house he used to live in was damaged by fire, and I was asked to help in the restoration. Long story. Here's their stuff: All The Animals https://alltheanimals.bandcamp.com/album/warning-teeth __________________________________________________ ___________________________________ Also, not from my area but a really good band from the pacific northwest, and a friend on-line: Lust for Glory https://lustforglory.bandcamp.com/album/blue-idle ...and here's a side project from Sean (of LFG): |
A not entirely local supergroup founded in SD (can't ****ing wait for the debut).

Nice! At first I was like: Why in ****s name is Gabe not on the drums? Then I saw Lombardo's in the line-up. Everything makes sense now. |
God it sucks living in Hampton Roads, Virginia. There are bands here, but... blegh. Only local bands I ever saw were ****ty metalcore/deathcore bands without an original bone in their body.

There's a cool ass band in my area called cloudcover that may or may not have an album coming out sometime in the first half of this year
