Jazz? Electronica?

Most Prog rockers proudly reject the Blues as well.

Critics. A critique is a review.

Im not sure about Progressive or electronica (hence the term pretty much), but isnt Jazz just Blues with Ragtime?

Jazz and Blues share a few common traits that are deeply rooted in African folk music. Such as call & response. But Jazz is an extension of Ragtime more than anything. Jazz borrowed some ideas from the Blues, but I wouldn't say its directly influenced by the Blues.

Some Jazz has more Blues influences than others though. Dixieland being a good example.

Electronica is an electronic music sub-genre independant of Techno. I should have said electronic music in general.

Hi there! It's not that I don't like 'em (I have 3 albums) I just don't think they're near the top 50 of all time. Sure they were original, but (to me anyway) they didn't really expand on that. And hey, if you wanna put 'em on your list, cool. But I just couldn't see them on a overall all time list.

Why are Pearl Jam so high?

They've been virtually anonymous outside of north america for about the last 12 years except for a few die hard fans.

Everywhere I bring up this topic people convince me they have surpassed Nirvana and I've always liked them better.

Where would you slot each band?

Thanks for the comment!!!
