^It wasn't a question of how good they were, it just that I thought they were lauded as the next ABBA. Roxette aren't that bad I like a few songs. Since we're on the subject. I'm going to go out on a limb here and possibly receive a rolf emoticon but I'll say most male/female duo bands are underrated.

Underrated:
Les Paul & Mary Ford
Kas Product (Mona Soyoc & Spatsz)
Everything But the Girl (Tracey Thorn & Ben Watt)
Pomplamoose (Nataly Dawn & Jack Conte)

solo Les Paul was better but that's just me

never heard of Kas Product

i started with the dancey EBTG and am working back their discography, some I like, some I don't

whatever I've heard from Pomplamoose, I love

oh and about Roxette, if this song doesn't convince you of their genius, I dunno what will:-

(Marie's looking really haggard in that)

this song = summer for me

Was that a scandal or something, because Per Gessle isn't credited on the record's liner notes.

no idea - it's probably a pen name for royalties

like Nanker & Phelge for early Stones, when it was Jagger/Richards

i glanced through wiki - most of the songs are written by Gessle

manufactured?....what by god? they were brother and sisters save Ulf Ekberg....and Jonas Berggren who was a member....wrote many of their songs...including The Sign and Another Baby

and the reason why Ace of Base was the next ABBA was because it was two men and two women from Sweden performing great pop music

i personally do not think a pop band or musician can be either overrated or underrated....they are pop if they chose to change to what listeners want then they do and if they chose to keep some form of integrity they tend to die out

personally i think Roxette, Ace of Base and ABBA are all great bands....for what they are

as a side note....someone back there mention Coil as Underrated....again there seems to me at least to be confusion between the concept of popular and underrated.....Coil in the "industrial" music scene is regarded as GOD....or at least one of them....and deserve that label.....i don't think they are overrated or underrated....but rather just where they should be....pioneers and pure and original genius

I seem to have woken up in some bizarre parallel universe where Bob is an expert on Ace Of Base.

I don't like it here

Haha, Ace of Base. More 90s than Smashmouth, LEN and Sugar Ray combined.
