overrated: system of a down, linkin park, skrillex, the sex pistols.

system of a down and linkin park...just suck, simply put.

skrillex... isn't totally ****ty, but doesn't deserve as much recognition as he's gotten. there's a lot more dubstep out there, but he seems to be getting all of the attention.

and the sex pistols were just malcolm mclaren's little boyband.

underrated: zounds, 13th floor elevators, cursive, the minutemen.

^ I actually agree with you wholeheartedly on 13th Floor Elevators. A lot of people seem to forget that psychedelia began in Austin, TX...not across the pond. And they did it pretty damn well.

Just to note, Skrillex is NOT dubstep...I don't even like mentioning him in the same sentence as the artists on Hyperdub. His music is shitcore or fuckbreak or whatever you want to call it but it has nothing to do with the organic dubstep that developed at the turn of the millennium:

I was watching Aphex Twin videos on youtube and a bunch of Skrillex fags pooled into one. Apparently people know who Skrillex is, but they've never heard of Aphex Twin.

You will find a fair bit of Dream Theater related discourse in this forum. Try and befriend erasertime if you can find him.
By the way, Hendrix is not overrated. I can't find any evidence that his praise is unwarranted.

Sasha Gray has done 'music' but sadly it's no metal. It's not really even music.
