Played and thoroughly enjoyed Breathe by Midnight Oil today... it's not one of their better known albums, and stylistically it's very all over the place... but ya know there is not a single dud track on it, it's spirit, ideas and the values it tries to put forth are amazing. Plus it's a nice stripped back, dirty sound the band went for which I thoroughly approve of...

I'm digging one certain song more then the others, but still, I'm enjoying it nonetheless. |

Öszibarack - Moshi Moshi Polish band with a Hungarian name (it means 'peach') glitchy and poppy IDM/downbeat electro |
Stumbled into the Shoegaze thread, pretty unusual for me in itself, and saw a youtube vid for these guys, liked it, nabbed the album, and now I'm hooked. I'm not sure If i'd call it shoegaze though, but it's definitely good stuff

http://onealbumaday.files.wordpress....tmans-call.jpghttp://bigpondmusic.com/images/Album...l-We-Part2.jpg You know those mornings when you can't really figure out why you woke up about six hours before you thought you would, you can't get back to sleep so the only real option is to sip coffee and sit around 'til a mate or two happens to be awake as well? These albums are pretty good soundtracks for that, for some reason or other. Also, I'm much more in the mood for something chilled than opening my mind to something new, so a couple of the old favourites can't go too far amiss. |

Nick Cave is one of the absolute best without a doubt though. He's probably another one of my most listened-to artists over the last 7 or 8 years, or however long I've been listening to what I'd call decent music (long before I started my LastFM account then). It's a real shame that discography thread that was started about him went under - it's pretty tempting to start a new one at this rate... |
I've been somewhat obsessed with Nick Cave in the last half a year and he's my most listened to artist on last.fm for that period.
I love Boatman's Call and it's actually my nighttime album (especially when I'm bussing home after 10 pm). Even though it's all ballads, it somehow never gets boring. Brompton Oratory is fantastic. No More Shall We Part isn't half bad either. :p: |

Kelley Stoltz-Below The Branches An indie musician with a really 60's sound people should check out. Loads of Kinks and Beach Boys influence. |

Built to Spill - Perfect From Now On
http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/image....L._AA300_.jpg  I've decided to take a break from the headphones (partly due to my computer problems and inability to update my iPod) and play some music on the office's built-in speaker system. Subjecting everyone to the tunes of sidewinder. |

Not much to say really, absolutely blown away by this record. Really believed that they had to take a step back with this one from Alligator and Boxer so tried not to get my hopes up. Astonished at how good this is, possibly better than their last two. Absolutely brilliant, AOTY-quality record here. |

Flying Lotus - Cosmograma http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg Got my copy in the mail last night! Played it once on the stereo when I was going to bed, enjoying a second listen now on headphones. |
Been really into Bowie's Hunky Dory lately.

If i think of it the best album i have listened to was Appetite for Destruction by Guns n' Roses

Ochre - Like Dust of the Balance
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA280_.jpg Breathtakingly beautiful melodic and organic IDM. If you like Plaid and strings, get this. |

It's grown on me that much yet but i think when i've got to know it a bit more it'll stand well along side the other 2...well maybe not DD 'cause that was amazing! |
I hadn't played it in ages but I stuck on 'Ziggy Stardust' a few days ago and it's hardly been off since.
Near perfect album, so weird and crazy and brilliant. |

Dismantled-self titled I've never heard a colder, scarier dark electro album |

One of my favorite Tosh albums because it has the stellar "Nah Goa Jail", which is in my personal top 10 Tosh tunes. |
A great pop album around at the moment is Rokstarr by Taio Cruz, a very talented guy, a great singer and great songs. Love how he's flying the flag for the UK, he's only the second UK male to have a US number 1 single in 10 years! Amazing.

I pretty much forgot I had this album 'til about 5 minutes ago. Can't remember if I ever gave it a listen or not but, either way, I'm in the mood for some northern soul right now, so it'll do. On that note, anyone who can get me a link to the Wigan Casino volume of of the Northern Soul Story compilations can be my new e-BFF. |

I'm finally working my way onto a second The Kills album after starting with Keep Me On Your Mean Side. Don't know why I skipped the second album. I think I liked the first one better, but this one is pretty good... |

I also didn't realize until now that he's a member of the Coltrane family. Some of them play on this album and it makes FLs sound (here and on old suff) feel even more legit. A jazz background explains a lot of it. |
