Brass Construction—s/t
Funk that leans disco but is also heavily rooted in jazz. Really enjoying this album. It makes me wish I had a time machine so I could go back and just walk around 1970s NYC.

Kitty - Miami Garden Club (2017)

As the premier Kitty fan in the world, it should come as no surprise that I am enjoying this album. I will admit that it took me a few listens to say that I "love" it, but that's probably because I was stacking it up against Frostbite - which has a pretty different sound. But she's smashed it again.

Brand New
Science Fiction

So I have a very love/hate relationship with Brand New. I grew up with a cousin of the bassist and have met Garrett a few times when I was much younger. I always wanted to like the band because of this but pretty much hated the first two albums. Then "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me" and "Daisy", particularly "Daisy" changed my mind a lot and now those two albums are ones I'll go back to every now and then and find things to enjoy.

The new album has joined the last two albums. It's very good. A few more listens could possibly push it into top 10 of the year status for me.

I mean seriously he has some nice songs but there isn't a much more overrated artist who consistently gets on the Billboard Top 100.
