That pretty much makes them as bad as her... person wise of course.

Thanks for turning sweet against me... I was saying it would have been pretentious of them if they had ignored something that was about them in the press, as if they wouldn't want to give her the "satisfaction of a response". I see nothing wrong with their response to her childish comments.

L2 Read. "The Band" said nothing. It was their publicist.

Who would say what the band wants to say, no?

PinkCigarette 03-15-2009 01:31 PM

I love how Miley Cyrus thinks she's important enough for Radiohead to drop everything and meet up with her.

She should just go back to having questionable pictures taken with her father half naked.

sleepy jack 03-15-2009 05:49 PM

It's nice to know Radiohead are too cool to meet fans now.

Molecules 03-15-2009 06:45 PM

is radiohead the one with that creep tune. i hate that song

I know this because I have a little sister... she was born Destiny Hope Cyrus, Miley was originally a nickname... I know, shoot me now!

Just as long as they keep churning out quality music I couldn't care less, it's not like I'm ever going to meet them.

The more I think about it, the more I think that this may be a publicity stunt on Radiohead's part. I mean, it's not like they're going to lose any fans by standing up Miley/Kanye. It just gets their name out there, and gets they're name in some news stories.

sweet_nothing 03-21-2009 06:03 PM

Anyone ever heard the original version of Reckoner? Thank god they changed it. Also Knives Out is a good song, I take back saying it sucked.

No but I've heard the early versions of Videotape and must admit that compared to it, the modern version isn't as good. Knives Out still sucks though.

Blue 03-22-2009 02:21 AM

Where did you find these earlier versions of Videotape and Reckoner?

NO YOU DO!
But yeh the early version of Videotape is better than the album version.

I got them from a bootleg In Rainbows Live album I'm not sure when it was recorded but I think it was recorded at various Canadian concerts

Piss Me Off 03-22-2009 04:06 AM

I think this thread influenced my dream last night, i dreamt that Radiohead did another version of Reckoner which was incredible, the main bit was done in piano much in the style of Like Spinning Plates and there was crazy distorted bass all over it.

It's too bad you guys couldn't have heard it!

Molecules 03-22-2009 04:13 AM

pfft Radiohead reissues? I'm saving for the Beatles ones which haven't been reissued since they first came out on CD

and how can Knives Out suck? If I had to pick any Radiohead song that sucked I'd say Fake Plastic Trees for starters. cue video of Thom in plastic consumer nightmare ahhh no it's so hard being thom yorke and being better than you

Pablo Honey and Bends era stuff isn't taken into consideration, because everyone knows it sucks, excluding like 3 songs.

I'm getting those re issues, except maybe Pablo Honey, I'm debating it in my head. Depends on the price. Also I hate that video.

dac 03-22-2009 07:40 PM

To me, The Bends, as a whole, lacks what I love in Radiohead... Fantastic production and gorgeous layering.

khfreek 03-22-2009 07:46 PM

Fun Fact: John Leckie, the producer of The Bends, produced Muse's first two albums. That's why they're often grouped together, as there's not much musical similarities.

To be honest, I really do see a lot of similarities beyond the voices. I'm not going to go so far as to say Muse rips them off or anything, but I personally hear a lot of 'OK Computer' in 'Black Holes and Revalations.'

dac 03-22-2009 11:13 PM

Oh my god. Has anyone else ever heard this Radiohead cover of Winter Wonderland? It's priceless.

John Leckie is a big cheese man! I got this off wikipedia. Swear he produced Script of the Bridge by the Chameleons as well (Interpol ripped them off). Sorry for the off topic, you may continue :D

Yeah, I had seen that on there :) I was just giving some insight as to why Muse are often compared with Radiohead, which I'm kind of tired of as a Muse fan.

And dac, can't really see where you're coming from with that...

Wait! Radiohead did a cover of Winter Wonderland? NO WAY! I gotta hear that! That sounds freaking cool!

dac 03-24-2009 08:49 PM

Yeah just google it, I found it after like 2 minutes of searching.

scottsy 03-24-2009 09:00 PM

I will most definitely have to do that!

Harvest 03-25-2009 11:47 AM

Hi, I'm new on this forum, but I simply love Radiohead, and couldn't resist the temptation to post in this thread right away =)
I got a couple of rare songs by our favorite band which i'd like to share:
http ://letitbit.net/download/b596d8841415/2006-06-24-I-Want-None-Of-This.mp3.html

http ://letitbit.net/download/fe06cf945013/2008-10-08BlowOut.mp3.html

I'd especially recommend the second one - that's "Blow Out" from the first album played in 2008 - quite rare, in my opinion, and beautiful as well.

Double X 03-25-2009 06:19 PM

I assume a lot of you have seen this already but I didn't think Thom's voice was that great until recently. He sounds so much like Ian Curtis in this cover.

Yes that cover is MUCH better than their cover of Headmaster Ritual.

sweet_nothing 03-25-2009 10:49 PM

Well duh, how many people can sound like Morrissey?

Piss Me Off 03-26-2009 06:37 AM

I wouldn't want him to. The covers alright but I look for bands making the song their own.

I look for a mix. Put your own thing into it, but at the same time, keep some of the things that made it great intact.
