OK, start naming all these bands that were influenced by Joy Division. As for Interpol, I don't hear the connection.

Interpol (if you don't hear this you need to get your ears checked, listen to Evil and tell me that doesn't sound like Joy Division), The Strokes, Death From Above 1979, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Bloc Party, The Rapture, Liars, Xiyu Xiu, The Walkmen, The Futureheads, Pretty Girls Make Graves, She Wants Revenge, The Magnetic Fields, The Consantines, The Unicorns, !!!, The Exploding Hearts, Tokyo Police Club, Les Savy Fav, Cansei De Ser Sexy, The Bravery, Maximo Park, Portugal. The Man, The Rakes and dozens more.

Yeah, that just makes me not want to like The Smiths.

But dispite that and the fact that Morrissey is the biggest tool in the world. I still like The Smiths.

And Interpol is just a lame Joy Division ripoff band, how do you not hear that?

Killers are too in your face to be compared to Joy Division. A friend of mine (who likes Joy Division) describes them as "Drudgy" -Is that even a word?

 Yeah the Killers weren't inspired by Joy Division at all. It's why they covered Shadowplay. How much Joy Division have you actually heard?
