Sorry Slint, you're just too advanced for us.

Woah. Deadwing was an excellent Metal album with great riffing. Give Up is a cool Electro Ben Gibbard side project with some guy in some other band, lol. How is Digital Ash awful, it's got a great folky feel with nice electronics mixed in.

2005 was a great year.
05 03 and 07 were the best years this decade

Thanks for critiquing my opinions with actual facts rather than other people who just insult me because they don't agree with me. I think Porcupine Tree can be too riff-addicted, but it's still a decent album, just not great. I've never heard Give Up so I honestly couldn't say what I think of it. I just thought that Digital Ash in a Digital Urn was littered with awkward allusions and clunky couplets and just fails in a mess of pretension.
Well, Digital Ash isn't exactly Oberst's strongest songwriting, but it's all about the electronics on here. The band does a great job of integrating the two sounds. If you don't like the riff-focused sound of Deadwing Fear Of A Blank Planet goes away from that pretty decisively.

9. Sigur Rós "Takk... (2005)

Yeah I like this album, in fact I like it alot. I don't care if they 'sold out' with it or its their 'weakest effort' yet or any of that pretentious post-rock snob drivel that always seems to haunt every single Sigur Ros album. Songs like Glósóli, Hoppípolla and Gong are completely stunning in their atmospheric beauty and very few bands can create the soundscape in the effortless manner that Sigur Ros do with each and every album.
Favorite Song: Glósóli
