Last week I discovered the S/T album by the Violent Femmes and I loved it, and it made me really happy that I discovered it while still technically in my teens. I only have 6 months left as a teenager, so my request is a bit specific - what are the best teen angst albums, the ones that everyone should hear while they are still a teenager? Not slit-your-wrist music necessarily, but stuff like Violent Femmes or Sonic Youth or even the earlier, rawer stuff by Modest Mouse.

Don't know how helpful my description is but if you've got something that you think fits it, let me know.

Jesse's Girl by Rick Springfield and Flavor of the Weak by American Hi-Fi are both the epitome of what you are asking for.

Default I need some recommendations...

I love remixes, mashups, and just about ANY type of song as long as it sounds good...

Personally, I don't honestly care about electronica or others but I'm posting in electronica because it usually has a MUCH better beat...

I'm going to try my best and explain what type of songs I like, but bare with me... Basically, I like songs with a decent amount of melodies going at once (I do not like the ones with just vocal and a guitar or just a drum etc.) and I really like them to actually correlate with each other... In other words, I want the song to sound like someone made sure that every melody seems to work with every other one as opposed to just a bunch of melodies shoved into a song...

To name a few songs I personally enjoy...

Jupiter Rising - Electropop (Lenny B Radio Mix) -- I only like the radio remix.
Daddy Dj - Daddy Dj
E-Type - Africa
September - Cry For you
Boys Noise - My Moon My Man

Hopefully there are other people who also have whatever taste for music as I have... (Btw, I'm fairly certain playing in orchestra for a couple years changed my tastes in music... I'm fairly certain it's why I require the melodies to flow well...)

Song titles / artists are more than enough for me (I honestly won't use any download links).

If more detail, more songs I like, more anything is required please post...

(By the way, I don't want just a spout of 80-90 different artists that are kind of decent but not really... People tend to think Quantity is better than quality, but I'm hoping for just a couple songs that are actually ones that flow very well)

-- Also, I tend to enjoy much more fast paced songs than slower ones... But, only if it isn't so fast that the melody doesn't get all messed up and jambled together --

I've been into DeFacto lately... what is some similar Dub without too much hip hop presence?
