Good to see all these nominations though - I'll definitely have to check a few of them out in future
Might as well officially nominate 5 now or I'll never get 'round to it. In no order;

Nick Cave - Dig, Lazarus, Lazaruss
Mercury Rev - Snowflake Midnight
The Week That Was - The Week That Was
Emmylou Harris - All I Intended To Be
Elvis Costello - Momofuku

I think I'll round out my list with Crystal Antler's EP. It's really great, somewhat Mars Volta esque, but with less prog and latin influences.

Modern Guilt was a major letdown.

I'm in agreement with Nick Cave, Cut Copy, and The Cure. The Cure in particular because I'm glad that they came out with a smooth-flowing CD to eradicate their prior effort which I wasn't too thrilled with.

Others in the mix (apologies if these were mentioned before)

Portishead - Third
Muse - Haaarp
Sigur Rós - Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust
The Mars Volta - The Bedlam in Goliath
Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard - Soundtrack to the movie "The Dark Knight"
The Fall - Imperial Wax Solvent
Aimee Mann - @#%&*! Smilers

No offense Jay, but I really hated the new Black Keys album.
