I love Gridlink and Discordance Axis, but sometimes I just wanna listen to some lowbrow deathgrind. It's got the brutality of brutal death metal, but that punk energy gives it an intensity that all that Suffocation thievery just can't replicate. For the most part, even second-rate, modern deathgrind is better than first-tier, modern death metal.

All outstanding musicians, but that bass player and drummer deserve a standing O by themselves. Talk about hittin the pocket. Dam. That moment when the Sam Jackson looking dude gets up out of disbelief of his buddies ivory prowess adds to the intensity a bit too. That kid on the solo had to have studied some Jan.
