Art exhibition album release party combo:

Quote:
While Connors has exhibited this visual work in group settings, including Sonic Youth’s touring exhibition Sensational Fix (2009), Wildweeds is his first-ever solo show...Wildweeds is presented in conjunction with the release of Connors’ Unaccompanied Acoustic Guitar Improvisations Vol. 10, by Blank Forms Editions. The album, featuring archival material recorded at the Creative Music Studio in 1980, represents the artist’s continuing exploration of musical form, the guitar’s capabilities, and the relationship between improvisation and composition. The record is released in an edition of 400 with hand-pasted covers, plus an art edition of 100, with each copy featuring a unique, hand-drawn and -painted cover by Connors.
Forgive me for being materialistic but I would ****ing love one of these records.

For $100 the art editions are reasonably priced

The pinnacle of Field Music's output (that I know of at least).

Ring Them Bells by Bob Dylan except the instrumental is the Rocky theme.

Love the Kath Bloom/Connors works aswell as some stuff he did with Suzanne Langille, and of course his solo stuff. Also, last year the news struck me that his mother, Mary Mazzacane was an opera singer, when some lovely archival recordings surfaced and was released on Recital in 2017. Various recordings from between 1948-1970, with that great crackling ancient recording quality. Didn't find much on Youtube to link for you guys, but this Ave Maria 1970 recording, (which is far more hi-fi then the rest of the comp's tracks):

Maybe not many here likes opera, but I thought it could be of interest because of the Mazzacane connection.
