I'm listening to a wonderful compilation mix from Impulse Records artists right now to help me concentrate on some writing I'm trying to get done. It features Ayler, Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, as well as a lot more "typical" (but no less excellent) jazz artists. Right now this song by Gabor Szabo is playing, and it is great. His skill on the acoustic guitar is sometimes jaw dropping.

My first time listening to this album (except for some of the singles which I'd already heard), and this seems to really stand out from the rest. The sound, though melancholy, is not at all like the rest of the album so far, and the lyrics are not as vague. I really like it.

A gag thrash song that was actually better than 90% of the rest of 80's thrash metal.

I like it, but the sound quality in that video makes it sound like it was recorded at a toilet.
