You're right of course Boo Boo

Whenever I go into a record store I can't move for black clad tousle haired 16 year olds buying Future Days & Marquee Moon

Lol, I've noticed that too.

I adore TV On The Radio, I thought Dear Science was one of the best albums of 2008.

Good music and an audience of more than 10 people is for arena rock corporate sellouts goddammit.
....find me a person that identifies themself as a hipster, then find me someone who made an argument even remotely like the last sentence and I'll willingly castrate myself.

I can find a thousand reasons to hate pitchforkmedia, just like I hate vice magazine.

Mars Volta and At the Drive In, if they count.
I live in a sort of small town where the lines between the subcultures have merged.

After looking through this thread I'm starting to think that every band I listen to is a hipster band.

A good chunk of what I listen to. I really don't care how "hipster" it makes me and how many people hate it. I will be listening to bands like Radiohead, Animal Collective, and Grizzly Bear for years to come. It's brilliant music.

I only use album reviews to read if there maybe anything I need to check out as well. But I don't only look at the rating but try to find out if it may be interesting enough for me to listen to. I may still like an album that got a bad review.

I like people who have developed their own unique musical taste regardless of what everyone else thinks of it including me. If you like listen to it and enjoy. **** the rest!

People may slap me over for this one: I for one wasn't impressed by Grizzly Bear's album "Veckatimest". It's definitely not bad but I don't get the big fuss over it. But I'm pretty sure they're gonna be overhyped this year.
