Well, Primus were a quirky and very influential band who had their peak in the 90s and were fronted by Les Claypool, one of the best bass players ever. Charles Mingus was one of the great jazz composers and himself a fantastic bassist. Both are definitely worth checking out.

Primus:

So I'm not the only one regarding the Killers (U2 is obvious...there are plenty of lovers and haters...I'm mostly indifferent leaning towards dislike).

I can't say I'm a huge fan of The Killers either.

There was a period where I loved Hot Fuss, but now it all just makes me cringe.

watched the first one it was pretty cool, took too long to get into & i wasnt the biggest fan of the nacho intro. but once it was in it was good, not my usual cup of tea, but if it came on in my library i wouldnt turn it off, put it that way

:D

I've never heard a full album, their singles are enough to make me cringe. They just sound so overproduced from the get-go.

Well, to be fair, I've only heard of Kings of Leon, The Jacksons, and Darren Styles.

Alot of my mix was not pleasant, but Owl City is what smiles soundlike, so it's always worth a listen.

Thursday Next 09-11-2009 01:26 PM

That s a mixture! Atomic Rooster is a good band name. Well, a memorable one anyway

Nine Inch Nails - The Great Below
Stereophonics - Same Size Feet
Rage Against the Machine - Wake Up
Mansun - Keep Telling Myself
Muse - Showbiz
A Perfect Circle - 3 Libras
Fischerspooner - Emerge
DJ Shadow - Blood On the Motorway
Electric Soft Parade -Silent to the Dark
Patrick Wolf - Augustine

Charlemagne 09-11-2009 07:04 PM

Sorry I don't like any of the bands on that shuffle, it's just not my style of music.

WHY?- These Few Presidents
Tegan and Sara- Hop A Plane
Great Lake Swimmers- Concrete Heart
Okkervil River- John Allyn Smith Sails
Regina Spektor- Riot Gear
Tegan and Sara- Burn Your Life Down
Aesop Rock- Coffee (featuring John Darnielle)
The Hold Steady- Same Kooks
Gogol Bordello- Suddenly...(I Miss Carpaty)
Sigur Ros- Festival

Now that is an amazing shuffle, this is going to be a tough choice for favorite song.

storymilo 09-11-2009 07:08 PM

Lets see, NIN cool, RATM cool, A perfect Circle cool, and DJ Shadow cool. The rest I either haven't heard of or have barely listened to

Ray Charles- Sinner's Prayer
The Beach Boys- Let's Go Away For Awhile (Stereo Mix)
The Who- Won't Get Fooled Again
Iron And Wine- Lion's Mane
They Might Be Giants- Alienation's For The Rich
Spoon- Stay Don't Go
Louis Armstrong & Duke Ellington- It Don't Mean A Thing
Neil Young- Cinnamon Girl--Neil Young And Crazy Horse
Bob Dylan- I Shall Be Released
The Clash- Four Horsemen

EDIT: Damn you Charlemagne. Your list has a lot I don't know, what I do know I haven't listened to much, but I guess Aesop Rock, The Hold Steady, and Sigur Ros are cool. Not a big fan of Regina Spektor

Under The Bridge has some sweet guitar in it. Your list is cool I like Stevie Ray, Natalie Merchant, and Nick Drake, The Church I've heard good things about but haven't actually listened to, the rest I don't know.

Coldplay- Lovers In Japan/ Reign Of Love
The Living End- I Want A Day
They Might Be Giants- Untitled
The Might Be Giants- Santa's Beard
The Zutons- Confusion
Jerry Garcia Band- The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down
Elvis Costello- Blue Chair [Single-Version]
George Winston- Night, Part 1: Snow
Elvis Costello And The Attractions- Lipstick Vogue
R.E.M.- Pilgrimage

Wow, weird list, two costellos, two TMBGs, and Coldplay, The Living End and The Zutons all popped up, which is honestly 90% of the pop I have on my ipod. My favorites gotta be the R.E.M.
