Damn I had my review of Rickenbacker's list all ready, took too long to go through my 10 shuffle tracks. And then I did Norg's while listening to the 18-minute Crippled Black Phoneix track and two other people got in! :p: Dammit! So alright NumberNineDream: Pretty standard tastes I'd say. I like Zeppelin, Floyd, Nirvana, some Beach Boys and Metallica, never cared too much for the Doors. But overall it's very normal.

From now on I'm also going to skip over people that neglect to comment on the list before theirs.

The Black Heart Procession - When We Reach the Hill
The Replacements - Gary's Got a Boner
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
The Beatles - Honey Don't
fIREHOSE - Caroms
Mike Patton - Juice Me
Waxwing - Untitled
...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Insatiable One
Amplifier - On/Off
Crippled Black Phoenix - Time of Ye Life / Born for Nothing / Paranoid Arm Of Narcoleptic Empire

Hear hear!

NOTE: This is not a list, comment on sidewinder's list above!

+81 08-10-2009 12:29 PM

Good plan Sidewinder. No one commented on either of mine.

As for your list,
I haven't heard The Black Heart Procession, Crippled Black Phoenix, or Amplifier. I could never really get into The Replacements but they do have some decent songs. I enjoy all the rest. I haven't heard that Beatles song though. Classic Queen song. Mike Patton, Trail of Dead, and fIREHOSE are especially wonderful.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Art Star (Live)
Sublime - KRS-One (Live)
Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Alisa
Low - Dinosaur Act
****ed Up - Days Of Last
Wintersleep - Archaeologist
The Constantines - Draw Us Lines (Live)
Black Eyes - Eternal Life
Thurston Moore - Off Work
Blood Brothers - Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck [Live]

Tough to pick a favorite.

Antonio 08-10-2009 12:44 PM

sidewinder, i'd think it'd help if you get the songs down first, then "Preview Post", cause that would reload the page with any changes that were made(new replies, edits, etc). that way you could see if anyone posted before you finished. idk, just a suggestion.

as for the above list, i've only really heard Sublime, sorry :(

Circa Survive-Semi Constructive Criticism
Porcupine Tree-Blackest Eyes
OutKast-God(Interlude)
Bobby Pulido-Substancia
Burst-The Immateria
Opeth-The Grand Conjuration
Hot Water Music-Recliner

The Clash-Clampdown
She & Him-Take It Back

NSW 08-10-2009 12:52 PM

Cheers for Porcupine Tree! :)

Jonny Lang – Get What You Give

BTown 08-10-2009 01:02 PM

I was unaware we had to comment on the person above's shuffle, guess I neglected to read rule number five. i'll start over again.

That's what I was doing, and why I was able to comment on the appropriate person when I finally submitted my post. ;)

I've only recently checked them out, the album Let it Be. It's alright, but some stuff including this song doesn't do much for me.

It's actually called "Is There a Ghost". ;) I never cared much for the particular song but I like the album.

Jack Luminous 08-10-2009 07:10 PM

Pretty fun Beatles track to start things off. Some nice tracks to follow too. Metallica and Tool livens things up, don't know the songs but I'm sure they're decent. Old school Radiohead and I've not heard much of the rest, aside from Sigur Ros of course. Good ending track.

Kitchens of Distinction - What Happens Now?
9th Wonder -The Righteous Way To Go (Instrumental)
Christopher O'Riley - Exit Music (For A Film)

Right, I knew that.

Anyway, I actually only recognize two songs from his list...The Otis Redding track and RHCP. And neither of those songs are some of their best so...

sidewinder 08-11-2009 01:07 PM

DeepDishBedPan's list: Not much in the way of things I like there...I like Rush and that's a decent song by them, definitely not their best though. I don't like U2, don't like Marillion from what I've heard. John Mellencamp is meh, and I haven't heard much if any Decembrists, Elbow, or My Morning Jacket. The others I don't know.

These Arms Are Snakes - Lead Beater
Mungolian Jet Set - Technon Thai
Silver Jews - How to Rent a Room
Red Red Meat - Cillamange

Sorry you're right, my mistake. I love that song, it's a great opening track

Shoe 08-11-2009 02:28 PM

Sorry man I actually don't know much of that at all except Queen (obviously) and they are great! I also know the Silver Jews and what I heard of them so far I have liked.

Stand Alone - Bob Marley
Pretty Girl From San Diego - The Avett Brothers

Fix Your Face - The Dillinger Escape Plan
A Hard Day's Night - The Beatles
Tom Sawyer - Mindless Self Indulgence

+81 08-11-2009 03:26 PM

That MSI cover is kind of lame. Beatles, Bob Marley, and The Dillinger Escape Plan are good. Highlight for me is Broken Social Scene. The rest I haven't heard.

mr dave 08-12-2009 03:02 AM

alright i'm bored again so i'm gonna make another verbose list of random stuff from my hard drive. as for the preceding list the only thing i really recognize is sun ra (i should probably get on soulseek again before the decade is up - i miss audiogalaxy so much :( )

1 - air - modular mix - sunny mid summer afternoon. riding in an old sedan on an empty highway . river on one side, trees on the other. left handed cigarette with a friend. :pimp:

2 - frank zappa - valley girl - like OMG! i prefer his bitchin' instrumentals. for sure for sure.

3 - dj shadow - you can't go home again - this track reminds me so much of 'doug and the slugs' for some reason i can't quite pinpoint, which appropriately enough is from a is a reflection of a home i can never return to.

4 - boards of canada - kid for today - 6am in february. frozen sedan on an empty highway. snowboards in the back. fresh coffees in the front. frost in the windshield - left handed cigarette hahaha

5 - aphex twin - analogue bubblebath - the echoes of all the voices in a ship trapped under ice before sinking

6 - goldeneye007 - multiplayer 12 - don't look at me that way

7 - jane's addiction - city - greatest G C D tune ever

8 - the doors - spanish caravan - in the psychedelic cathedral cool **** went down.

9 - my bloody valentine - i can see it (but i can't feel it) - indeed

10 - eric dolphy - burning spear - a safari on the serengeti for your ears until some weird yankee doodle dandy bit shatters the illusion and reminds you you're lost in rush hour traffic for eternity.

... or something like that. either way it's the most intensely ambient-ish track that wins out tonight. although the next track that came up would have gotten the bold had this gone longer haha

Astronomer 08-12-2009 03:19 AM

^ Not a bad list although I'm not familiar with all of it. I need to listen to some more Aphex Twin methinks.

I'm bored so...

1. Rage Against the Machine - Renagades of Funk
2. Jeff Buckley - Everybody Here Wants You
3. Fat Freddy's Drop - Breakthrough
4. Mr. Bungle - Ma Meeshka Mow Skwoz
5. Porcupine Tree - Lips of Ashes
6. Tool - Flood
7. Radiohead- The National Anthem
8. Karnivool - Fear of the Sky
9. Tori Amos - Enjoy the Silence
10. The Cure - Pictures of You

Antonio 08-12-2009 03:30 AM

I've heard 40% of the list, of the ones I know (MM, Jose, BB and The Impressions) some decent songs. I'll maybe try a few of the ones I don't know out, any I should know? Also, what's the best B. B. King album to get? I love the guy but not got an album by him.

sidewinder 08-12-2009 11:07 AM

^ Well I don't much like Bruce Springsteen which means I probably don't like The Gaslight Anthem either. Not a fan of Jay-Z either. But Nirvana, Portishead and Nine Inch Nails are good. Dntel I've only heard as part of Postal Service so I can't comment, and I don't know the others.
