You underestimate the elitism of MusicBanter.

I don't think elitism comes into it at all.

I wasn't bought up on stuff like Led Zeppelin , Pink Floyd , Queen or stuff like that when I was growing up , and I remain indifferent to a lot of that stuff now.

I'm not like that to be different of elitist , most of that stuff genuinely does nothing for me musically.

I respect PF and once in a blue moon I'll even put one of their albums on, but not often enough to call myself a fan. Another no won't hurt their chances and Molecules looks lonely down there.

Haha, I didn't think of that, dac.

I don't think being brought up on an act means appreciating an act more or less. There are acts that were around when I wasn't even born, that I've come to admire, respect and such. If I had to enjoy just contemporary music, or even music from just the last 20 years, it would be an uneventful experience, overall.

Umm... the last 20 years have been pretty good if you ask me.

I believe you're confusing Pink Floyd with The Grateful Dead.

even so, i'd rather listen to overblown music rather than the cat piss that circulates and stagnates for ages like the latest crap that's been orally serviced from the jowls of whatever washed up musician rolling stone is touting lately. being something that the general public can connect to (or hype) doesn't take anything away from the music.

and i just realize who hasn't been nominated yet. must get on that...
