So far I've counted 2 NO votes and one was by accident.... Come on guys if you vote NO on this one please tell us - i'd be very curious to find out why.

I voted no because I've never really interested in Buddy Holly and what he has done. I used to try to look at artists objectively in this but then I had an argument with somebody many pages back who said that the MB Hall of Fame should be based on personal attitude towards the musician. So personally, I've just never been into Buddy Holly!

Fair enough. I do think though you should give him a spin sometime. You may be pleasently surpsrised.

I know his death was tragic and that many older bands call him an influence, but I've personally never had an interest in really checking him out. I've heard a few of his songs of course, and while they're cool, I don't think that's enough for me to vote him in.
Pretty lame right? I probably should dig deeper into his work, and may end up liking him well enough after some time, but at the moment I have to say 'no'.

The vote is most likely going to be biased then because the only people who would go out of their way to familiarize themselves with a musician from the 1950s is more likely to enjoy his music...

Yes! Where would the world be without Buddy Holly??! Plus, he is so adorable and I could listen to him anytime and its gonna get me in a good mood.

Also, you know that song, "American Pie" about the day the music died/the day Buddy Holly died in the plan crash? Well, that was written by Don Mclean who lives in my town. So in a very distant way I have a connection to Buddy Holly.. haha, I guess.

PS I only have one nomination left my lovelies...so I am opting to hold off on posting it until tomorrow. Hopefully I'll receive some awesome suggestions for future nominations before then.
